i think they suit our tiny, congested, island more than most places. I cba to try and get to cornwall (which is only 2 charges away in the e) because of the traffic. and the fact when you get there it's a bit shit and will rain. so airport runs, the woods with bikes.. i reckon it suits my use. could be wrong but wgaf?

didnt watch the show in fairness but i am buying to trundle round local. I guess it's unusual to have multiple cars but i expect we always will given the nick of 'er indoors driving (think police, camera, action).

nothing really available on the H front.. you can get a nexo for 70k https://www.hyundai.co.uk/new-cars/nexo

but that fulfills such a niche at such a cost for me

It occurs to me that all this stopping & eating isn't gonna do the diabesity epidemic any favours.

Not the hypertension one, when all of the charge points are occupied/not connecting.

Trundling around the locale makes more sense.

Best we don't mention winter range with a cold battery and lights / radio / heater all eating away at range. It'd be akin to driving around a circular race track with a hole in the outer facing side of the fuel tank.

I might possibly stick a greenhouse heater underneath. Keeping the edge off the low temperatures in the garage will also help the L-ion 9.6kW stack to charge.

But range even if reduced 50% will be fine for our daily local needs.

It really ought to have a thermal management system integrated, so it self-heats when plugged in.

The Model Y's system is a work of art, controlled by a wonderfully Heath Robinson Octovalve. If only the visible bit were a work of art...

Don't see why you can't throw a honking lead acid UPS in the boot and run the charger off it ICoE

Energy density - you'd be better chucking a Honda Genny in the boot and driving with the windows open - drag coefficient notwithstanding.

Or just throw your cool to the wind and buy a Mk1 Insight.

There was a tonight program last night on e cars. Not seen it but will catch up later. Ah see it's the one Arse mentioned. Pretty crap show as you might expect. Hydrogen tech expensive so will be for trucks they reckoned which e doesn't suit, the batteries being too heavy.

My mum was telling me how unsuitable the e is for me

She drives an Up and an old VX diseaseal. Admits the Up hasn't done more than about 30 miles. Too uncomfortable. It claims to do 70mpg but doesn't. I told her that is a result of a super cheap plank with shit everything. Hateful little POS.

Its about half the price of the e but uses 3 times as much £ in fuel

i can't buy a diesel. I don't want an all turbo 1L petrol. I don't want £570 road tax, the furlough ****ers can pay that tax back, not me.

in choosing between tesla and honda you are choosing between a tech company who have designed 5 cars vs a car company who have designed 1 electric...

in choosing between todays horrid petrol or electric you are choosing between a horse and a bike.. the former will shit all over your yard but is cheaper to buy perhaps...
