Bit off topic but I was reading about how Michael Burry is shorting Tesla
those stocks have never been ones I have liked.. a bit like gambling really..
Anyway last Tesla made 500k cars but are valued at more than ford, GM, nissan, Toyota and VW combined. Who made 46m cars.
Think the e is quite pessimistic about its range
it started off at 100% and 99 miles (eek)
30 miles later it decided range was down to 92 miles
I think realistically, 3 + dog up, mix of roads it's maybe 120 in summer for me, c100 in winter
This is not trying driving, a fair bit of autonomous on an A road out of the burbs towards a rural location north of Notts called Cresswell Crags, the adaptive cruise is rather good for this high traffic, 50mph SPECS route
It will basically chug along in traffic slowing and speeding up, even down to a concertina crawl at junctions without input from me
I took the SC S2 out later today after raising ride heigh a bit. It's clear my clutch foot has missed manual and got lazy
I think they are a rare sight so had a grin when I flashed out another blue one from a Chinese on our return trip. Vertu's demo car I gather from the stickers
After a day at the beach and seaside several firsts.
Parking in Wells-next-the-Sea was all full. Except 4 e-car charge bays. Thank you very much. Plugged in (not got the Genie NFR card or app) but wtf plugged in and away we go. Still had to pay and display of course. Got home with 12% and 18 miles alleged range so filled up at 14p/unit added 28.1kWh which takes me to 100% with 145 miles range. Some spare in there.
Warm weather is good. A trip to Sevenoaks might be possible without an interrmediate charge possibly if it is warm enough and I drive like Miss Daisy.
Kids loved the Aquarium and turned it into a battle, who can pull more fish to their screen by feeding the basts fastest.
had to visit a petrol station yesterday.. first time since i got the e but the SC S2 finally ran out of v-power
the smart charger arsie recommended logs my actual input to the car so includes any "inefficiency" - ie what goes in.. i recorded the mileage a month ago and calculated around 142mpge. made me chuckle .. that's about 3 times what my (700cc) bike gets
we did c553 miles in that month's use so down on the 10kpa i estimated on but still not commuting.. in the BM that woulda been 13 gallons of squirt at somewhere north of 600p.. £184 min. versus low £20s. and i expect to move to a better tariff shortly which could cut that cost to £5
rumours the app has been sorted but i still dont use it
the paint is very soft. its super easy to drive and a traffic dream. my clutch leg is wasting away tho .. as the SC car run out attests
Marketing depts are probably full of frightened non binary millennials these days who darent tweet an opinion for fear of retribution in 10 years from now
Twunts
i can't move to go yet as Nina locked me but the difference is trivial in terms of monthly cost on our mileage
I micro charge 2 times a week ish, never from flat but try to get it to below 20%
Tracking the range ... Was 145 miles at 100% fully charged. Dereham this morning 73 miles at 50%
Never got close
When we went to Leics, 57 miles each way, I took the NA S2000
In fairness I like some of the roads through Melton so it was probably even longer diversion
not sure my e woulda made it
Range is not a strength for sure. They shoulda designed 10kwh boot installed boosters.. same weight as a fat passenger

House mains power supply failed shortly after 2pm. Fridge/freezer down to -1 degrees C and +5 degrees respectively by 3pm. Back on about 4pm.
Wrestled it out the alcove and used a 10m lead to connect to the 13A socket on the 'e' sitting in the garage. Once the car was turned on, the power to the fridge/freezer had it back to -16 and +5 within a half hour, my normal settings. A bit worrying about the rapid heat loss from the freezer maybe I misread but it only took a couple of percent out of the 'e' battery. I do have an automatic EPS takeover for that ring main circuit from my house battery but it has been problematic (e.g. came on for a valid RCD trip out appliance fault situation) and is turned off.
