All valid stuff and when we get to 2030 and sea level has risen by six feet and we can no longer buy ICE new cars do we expect those who created this mess to take responsibility when electricity supply is increasingly unreliable (it's creaking at the seams now). The MMGW liberal zealots will still forbid burning fossil fuels when all nuclear power stations have been decommissioned (which will be the only way to get over the inevitable fact that the sun don't always shine and the wind don't always blow).
edit: and I am not convinced EVs are all that green. Emissions yes but disposing of L-ion batts? Manufacturing?
Funny story. My neice is soon to start learning to drive and my brother had suggested they might get her one of these.
Her response was along the lines of "Yuck! that looks like one of those old disabled person's cars". I must admit she does sort of have a point, the ungrateful wretch:
Many years ago a friend drove one of these and I had a wee drive, I would rather have walked unless it was extremely wet out or I wanted to sit in the warm at the football.
So are we to do things now to save the planet in 1000 years but **** the working class in 20? Seems out of step with the fluffy save the planet agenda and a cyclops sized eye being turned blind.
since when did you give a shit about "the working class"?
You can argue about global warming all you wish. I dgaf.
Its like obsessing about the weather or fiscal policy, you have zero influence barring a late rush into politics and some back handers. You can run a V12 and stay in first or a leaf and not heat your house.
Ultimately for me, zero emissions at the tailpipe for a car on a school run, which I also enjoy driving, and which stacks up against a petrol car for the same use and will, I expect, be cheaper overall to own is an easy sell
I didn't buy it cos I vote green (I don't)

BEVs do lend a whole new meaning to the term 'rollin' coal', since the Little Green Marxians forced the closure of all the clean New Killer power stations.
Don't go near mining cobalt or lithium, either.
But judge the product upon its merits or demerits, not the political death cult that has infiltrated modern thinking (term used loosely).
Swirl marks have been bugging me since I got this ex demo. I do wonder what dealers wash them with but then after tinkering tonight it's clear the paint is very soft
anyway a DA with Poorboy's SSR3 then 1 is improving things. Time consuming though but my experience is getting it decent and whacking on layers of polish (I use zaino z2) will keep it looking good with not too much effort
BIke rack is MIA with FedEx
Noticed the little downward facing cams on the wing cams which give you the 'aerial' view when manoeuvring, I like these for tight spots far better than beeping (which it does do alas)
Those downward-facing cameras made me notice the Leg End has picked up a few twig scratches from the narrow lane and needs a compound again.
What is really impressive (for someone who usually detests gewgaws) is how well-integrated this stuff is and how it all occurs in one's peripheral vision due to the intelligent (and clean) dash design. Funny when the front of the car magically disappears when manoeuvring forwards.
The Lancia Gamma used to do that when reversing, but it stopped working if the boot had stuff in it. I suppose glass prisms are otherwise more reliable.
The radar cruise seems better-integrated than with ICEs, too - faster/cleaner switch to regen seems to be the key. It still tailgates a bit, though.
This is all a lot of shit to go wrong in future - a battery rebuild will probably be feasible, but on top of all the other stuff..?
Perhaps surprisingly I expect that all to be Honda's problem. I didn't order EDD on them , I just bought a used car
I am honest about what I care about. Many owners of electric cars are ill informed hypocrites. Much like the politicians and stars jetting around the world to lecture the rest of us on our carbon footprint. Or worse still, woke millennials who want student communism and bicycles but with smartphones.
