The Octopus Energy 'Go' EV tariff is charging mine up at 5p/kWh as we speak. That rate as you know is 00:30 to 04:30 my rate otherwise is 15.96p.
I suspect my days are numbered but good luck flogging the 'e' if the shit really does hit the fan it will be worth less. Possibly worthless too
With PV and house batteries I am slightly less vulnerable though not much and defo I will be taking my booster in two weeks

A friend in Canada was telling me they pay 7p a kw
It's mostly green, a lot of hydro and tidal . Ours is 3-4 times more expensive and coal is making a comeback as predicted

Canada are also into mini nuclear fission power stations and so should we be (but not with China). Bit of a lead time though from concept to commission.
We shouldn't be afraid to resort to coal power in emergency when the sun don't shine and the wind no blow.
Bugger the green lot when they are happy to let China/India/etc build new coal.
