the only explaination i can think of as to why i make the power i do, is that my car maybe have been a hair stronger out of the factory. i really dont know. it just does.
It's simple, really. The car gods smile upon you. Some of us they like, some of us are cursed by them. One cannot fathom their justifications, our cars are either strong, reliable, and healthy, or their not.

Praise be to Honda. *Bows to the East*

How did you get to that conclusion?

Maybe somebody willing to "try stuff" regrets wasting $5,000 for minimal gains and ruining the civility of their car?
I think I agree with both sides. The quote is 9 or 10 months old and is taken out of context -- he was advising someone who had a good idea that was getting crapped on by some people who didn't really have an answer for the guy, and vegas was just trying to tell him that it was a good idea and since it has worked in the past on virtually all other cars it would most likely work on S2000s, even though it hadn't really been tried or proven on our cars except by a couple guys.

You're right though in that "trying stuff" is not always a good idea, and there are lots of us experienced car guys who have tales of spending a crapload of money because it seemed like a good idea at the time, only to find out later that it was not a well-thought-out plan.

Happiness is relative, and that goes for cars as well -- this guy might love putting ITBs or a huge sound system or 20" spinners (god forbid) on his S2K, as long as it makes him happy that's fine because not everybody is going to love any modded car. That's what's great about forums like this though -- you get a lot of information before you make your decisions so you'll have a better idea of whether or not it will be a stupid idea. On that note best of luck to wildcard and his ITB + cams & valvetrain work, it's gonna be tough man.

Anyone have any dyno charts to prove 70mm exhaust superiority? When I got rid of my T1R 70mm and went back to stock exhaust my car didnt slow down much. Just wondering does anyone have any hard facts to prove it?

I wasn't a 70mm guy, but I was a single 63mm with testpipe. I really don't think it added that much power, maybe it did. But honestly, when I put my stock back on, it actually felt better. The top end pull didn't seem to diminish much, maybe a slight amount of restriction felt between 8-9k...but lower are-pea-m's feel more responsive and torquier. Which is probably due to exhaust velocities being maximum through the piping at those rpm's and pulling a little more out of the cylinders or something. However, singles have proven to gain power at not loose bottom end...but again, butt dyno says...response is diminshed

i noticed the same effect when i had to go back to stock for 3 weeks. low end was back, but past 7k the car fell on its face. when i got my 70mm on the pull past 6k was insane!
