I know to hit the 230whp head porting is a must with bolts.

So lets say
J's header - 1200
J's intake - 1100
J's 70RR - 1300
Alaniz head port * competition type * - 2300
AEM Standalone - 1300
Tuning - 500

Total of 7,700 Dollars for gains around 230-240whp.
Let think as a cheap Guy

Used Toda Header o Comptech - 800
Comptech CAI or AEM V2 - 300
Sparrow or Spugen Ti - 900
Alaniz - 2,300
Used AEM - 1000
Tuning - 500

Total 5,800

An I do not think it would be a lot of difference in performace a few ponies?

Personally I think I'd do the T1R and the Mechanical fix...or the Megan.

Some people with S/C's (flowing more air) are still getting the CEL with the berk unit, and it is due to a design flaw. they have the O2 sensor pointing into the exhaust flow, so when your flowing more air, it gets forced into the O2 sensor still throwing a code.

And the reason I pick T1R over Megan, for one, I'd like to use my stock cat heat shield around it, looks like a cat. And 2, I'm not sure how the megan would sound with a resonator. I know when I put my catalytic back on...it sounded much different and I didn't like the sound at all. But maybe it was because I was having problems with my exhaust.
I have the T1r exhaust and megan test pipe. While it sounds great for performance I'm going to sell the megan test pipe fora 63mm one. Because my exhaust is 63mm and the test pipe is smaller than that and makes a small bottle neck. So all you guys running the 70mm exhaust and 63mm test pipes should consider going to a 70mm test pipe.

^ The 70r exhausts come with a 70mm TP (T1R) or have no test pipe (J's 70rr).

Silver is right - over 12:1 CR and you wont see any gains. Youll need to retard the timing so much on 92 octane that youll reduce any gains that would have been made.

I don't know how much the ported head adds on NA, but you'll need it to reach these goals!! AJ-R was going to do mine when I was going this route. They were cheaper than Alaniz, and I trust their work.

Juan is right - it can be a lot cheaper. Buy your ish used. My car is nearly a project S2Ki. But youll need a 70mm single over a Sparrow to reach these goals!

I still get confused with Dynos... Dynapack is the most accurate, lowest reading, right? And Mustang/Dynojet are a little higher #s? Regardless, TurboPWR has an awesome setup, and dyno'd the same as AJ-R did (though I dont recall what dyno they used).

Kayvan - nice smashing on the RSX.

Sparks should remain IK22 if you are under 250whp. If you reach that goal, you may consider IK24 series. Doesnt make much of a difference though IIRC.

What custom intake are you getting? Ahh freeway rolls - I love 'em.

Dynapack is not accurate because it's measuring power without any rotating mass to it. Meaning it measure your whp from the hub of the vehicle. Mustang dyno read lower but the most accurate reading will be the dynojet. It read realistic calulation, * that assume all the proper adjustment is made on the dynojet *. The dynojet read basically what your car come with. Like for example, the dynapack read without your wheels, the dynojet read it with the wheels on. I say if you can get a chance to dyno go with the dynojet.

Thanks , I love freeway rolls also

Im running some crappy bosch 4's rigtht now and need to get new plugs... And I believe dynapacks read very high while dyno jet reads lower but is more accurate...

The intake isnt really custom but it's a rare piece and I guess very few are made... It the one in the pic below and then goes down and gets air from under neath the car. It has a geat ram air effect, it will only show around 4rwhp in the dyno, but at speeds is supposed to get around 10rwhp , hope it works out well. ANything is better than my short ram intake on my car right now!!

Wow, pick up that intake if you can. Super rare and nice. I love the round snorkel down by the X-Brace. Only snorkel that doesnt go to the bumper. Just don't drive through a lake!
