Blue will do what you need .

But being universal I would just spring for the Ultimate the extra features are worth it . You can always take it with you to your next toy . For $600 with harness you cant go wrong .

-------------------------------------

The GReddy e-manage Ultimate was engineered to preserve the best features of the original e-manage (an economical price, the use of existing sensors, the ability to easily alter stock settings, & the vast compatibility for most Japanese performance vehicles), while advancing new innovations in piggyback engine control management. Although the external physical dimensions are the same, the Black-Chrome Ultimate has an increased number of input and output ports along with new built-in adapters, to add a number of new options.

In addition to standard e-manage airflow-based adjustments, the Ultimate version includes new and upgraded features. Included is a PC-based Ultimate Support Tool software CD, with an easy-to-use Parameter Set-up, tab menu format and speedy USB communication. Ultimate has improved direct Map control for adding and subtracting Fuel and Ignition. The ability to switch between 2 preset tuning Maps (i.e. Street or Race program) via externally mounted toggle switches. There are Maps for Individual cylinder adjustment for both Fuel and Ignition. There are also options to convert injection and ignition systems (i.e. group or sequential injection and group or individual fire ignition.) An Airflow Output Map option even allows for airflow meter elimination. And when used with a wideband A/F Meter, the Air Fuel Target Map can self-tune an Injector base tuning Map, to speed up initial tuning. There are also built-in Boost, Rev and Speed Limiter-Cut features. To create super smooth operation, there are various fine tuning Correction Maps to adjust for Throttle Acceleration, Vehicle Speed, Water Temp, Intake Temp, Auto Trans Shift, Anti Engine Stall, and Idle. To further aid in tuning, e-manage Ultimate's improved integrated Monitoring, Map Tracing and Datalogging features far exceed any other piggyback controller on the market. Even when not connected to the software, 8 channels of datalogging (at 20msec intervals) can be recorded and stored to be reviewed later. With the Support Tool connected, over 30 channels can be covered. Other new features include: Improved RPM recognition, Warning Settings, Password Protection for individual tuning Maps, NVCS (Nissan), VTEC (Honda), O2 Feed-back, Clean Fouled Plugs, and numerous others in future updates.

Is that from Evasive's site??
Thanks for the comments.

I was thinking the same thing... But my next toy wont be a project, and Im selling my car with the ECU. It's a $300 difference, which is considerable to me. If I would utilize the extra features, I'd get it no doubt. But if BLUE does everything I can possibly modify with my setup, no reason to go Ultimate I figure... Simply just some bolt ons. I want to lower VTEC, adjust AFR, and adjust TIMING. I think BLUE should get me by... Hmmm...

Anybody interested in a Buddy Club Race Spec ECU w/ Vcon?

They don't list everything that is need at Evasive . You would have to call . I am not a sponsor .But I will tell you pricing and take this info when you call Evasive to place a order .

What you will need

E-manage blue -- $275
Timing Harness --$40
Support tool software to program e-manage -- $135

Total --$450 ( You will also need another harness if you want to add fuel with injector timing and pressure sensor if you go FI )

For Ultimate

E-manage Ultimate --$ 499 ( includes software )
Complete harness -- $ 100 ( this harness will do everything needed , except the pressure sensor ( only for FI) which is still separate )

Total $599

Not as bad a difference as you thought .

I install a ultimate a week . It is a very nice piece .

Your choice , Just giving you the info before you order your blue and find you cant use it for another week because you needed other things .

Good luck with your decision

Thank you for that... Very helpful.
I didn't know you needed that extra support piece with the Blue. That sucks.

Maybe Ultimate it is. Thanks a lot!

Isn't the Ultimate a standalone ? unlike the blue

Does it have base line maps to allow you to drive to the tuner ?

It is a piggyback .

You just need to do basic setup for the sensors and you can drive it right off. You will still be running on the factory ecu .

You guys will want to wire the injectors for add and subtract . If you just try to use just the MAP adjustment it will be no better than a VAFC.

I use the MAP adjustments to clamp voltage for FI .

Another option if you guys don't want to do all the wiring or if you don't want to splice your factory harness . Boomslang sells the ultimate harness prewired to a t-harness for about , i think $200

Dayammmm.
Do you need a the injector harness even if you're NA and not changing your fuel load more than +/- 20%?? I'll be subtracting fuel most likely since I have a pig-rich 01 ECU...

I hear you can get the software needed for the BLUE online for free, and the USB cable for a few bucks? If so, I think a BLUE will do me just fine... My tuning doesn't need to be extensive with my simple bolt ons... I hope to pick up a few ponies with it, though.

Louie,
I am going to buy just the Emanage BLUE.
You can get the USB cables for a few bucks, and download the software. Neither of us have extensive mods to need pressure sensors or injector harnesses.

When you are ready (hopefully in a week or two), we should email a few retailers to see if they'll give a slight break if we order 2. Worse case, we save on shipping having them both go to your place or something. We'll see.
I was just given the site for software downloads. Thanks you-know-who!
Now I just need to find the USB Cable and the best tuner around. I'm thinking TorqueFreaks down in Portland?
