I wouldnt do it. I doubt it brings it to 280hp on our gas.

Yeah, but I also have a stock disk. I only changed flywheel now... I think I should be okay.

For you, I wouldn't bother. You're already a 2.2L and raising displacement .1L isn't going to be much of a difference for you. The 2.2L is a good base to start with. Do the bolt-ons first, then if you want to go into the engine, get some stronger forged rods (I know stocks are forged but you'll need stronger ones), some good pistons with more valve clearence, and some hearty cams, then rev your 2.2 out to 9000rpm. Minus the cams, it probably wouldn't cost you what the 2.3L kit would, and by reving to 9k (as long as cams continue making power) your hp will be higher then with the 2.3L. Not quite 280bhp but you'll like it.

Now, a 2.3L kit for a 2.0L guy, assuming you can still rev that to 9000 would be a big jump.

If I had to go N/A again, i would go all out and get

JDM S2000 with 11.7 CR
J's ECU
J's Header
J's CAI
70mm exhaust (T1R or J's)
70mm Test pipe
J's 70mm TB
Mugen cooling mods
Head and Manifold work
Run it on VP street blaze 103 octane fuel

Ap2 Tranny and 4.44 gears

That would probably yield some good power

^ Juan, you could only get 11.9:1 by combining the Spoon gasket with the JDM pistons. But hey, with 103 octane, you can do that!!!

I agree with Silver's recommendations. Stay at 2.2L. Just do the breather mods, and when you're ready, take the plunge into tuning, higher compression, headwork, flywheel, etc.

What would be easier and better is to use 100 LL (low lead) aviation fuel. Its 100 octane, but since it is slightly leaded, it is a little more knock resistant. As long as you aren't running a cat, this will be ok, and as long as you don't run it all the time, like say 1 tank per every 5 tanks of normal gas; your O2 sensors will be fine.

The reason I say 100LL is because its right now its typically $3.40-3.80 a gallon depending on the airport. So its much cheaper then other 100 octanes.

The only thing I haven't completly figured out yet is how to get it in a car?

I wouldn't use it... It will destroy more than the cat. There was thead on this yesterday. And unless your tuned to run that type of fuel or absolutely need do to high compression then it wont help... People in the other thread were really against using it.

THE CARS FACTORY ECU CANT COMPENSATE FOR HIGHER OCTANE THAN 97. SO IT WOULD DO NOTHING HP WISE.

Louie,
It would if you have higher compression with more advanced timing, and had an HKS Fcon Vpro to maintain maps for different fuels.

Id like to read the thread on that fuel. Can someone link?
