since i'm not a baller on money, i do really like the T1R sparrow 70mm exhaust but since i just bought an exhaust and its only 60mm i'm going to go ahead and stick with my invidia. I'm wanting to get a test pipe which I hope helps and then i'll move on to complete the system with headers and move on to my clutch and flywheel. How much power am I losing staying with my 60mm exhaust? I thought about it and just might go ahead and waiting til i'm FI to get a new exhaust, i'm sure i'll upgrade to a 80mm exhaust when I do. what do you think?

[QUOTE]this thread really is a lot of ramble in parts hopefully after we are making decent power some of us will do some drag testing just to see how it compares...

I might just for the hell of it, and I have a bunch of friends that would go to, so maybe in the next month or so I will have some horrible drag times up.

your not loosing to much with the 60mm...since you have no other mods at the time it doesn't really matter much. You can go 80 mm now with a test pipe combo and you'll get good power.

so i wont even lose too much powere with an 80mm exhaust? I wasn't sure because once I was told if the piping is too large your losing power with going with bigger piping..almost like when single exhaust cars go with dual. Maybe im just crazy.

i dont think the s2000 is ever good at the launch..i'll never want to dump the clutch at 7K but i've been trying to see what are good launch points and I didn't dump the clutch but i slowly kinda let off the clutch at about 4-5 thousand and it did really good. i'm sure their is some more i need to work on to perfect it but i know i'll get their. And i'm sure its always different at the track since its paved different.
ya, I have the stutterbox on the EMS set to 5500...when the tires were good it seemed to be a pretty sweet spot to launch at...but I'll find out...I should hopefully at least get into the 13s since people do that stock

the thing that worries people is the fear of loosing back pressure by going with the bigger piping. It's true you will loose power if you had only the 80 mm exhaust, but you actually will make more power then a 70mm when you combine a test pipe with the 80mm. No gains with stock cat, but better gains with a test pipe. The back pressure theory is a myth, and i have this set-up and the gains are great. no loss in power.

since i have been VFAC tuned i have had to learn to re-launch the car. i dumped it at 4500 once just for one, and it BAKED the tires through first, and half of second!

my rear tires are too small at 225's, so its not that hard to to smoke the rubbers into 2nd.

whats a good test pipe to get for my car with the exhaust setup i have right now? I saw the berk test pipe but i see i'm like 3-4 months late on that. And i dont want to have to worry about the CEL coming on.

Personally I think I'd do the T1R and the Mechanical fix...or the Megan.

Some people with S/C's (flowing more air) are still getting the CEL with the berk unit, and it is due to a design flaw. they have the O2 sensor pointing into the exhaust flow, so when your flowing more air, it gets forced into the O2 sensor still throwing a code.

And the reason I pick T1R over Megan, for one, I'd like to use my stock cat heat shield around it, looks like a cat. And 2, I'm not sure how the megan would sound with a resonator. I know when I put my catalytic back on...it sounded much different and I didn't like the sound at all. But maybe it was because I was having problems with my exhaust.

So what do we predict about this setup:

AUT Snorkel
K&N Filter
Spoon Venturi TB
Hondata Gasket
J's / Toda Header
T1R 70mm Test Pipe
T1R Sparrow
Comptech Flywheel
Buddy Club RS ECU Tuned

Think that would be good for 225 peak hp?
