My car toda spec A cams, mugen ECU, amuse R1, HKS Header, mugen intake. 212 rwhp on a dynojet. Same dynojet different day (obviously) was 192 rwhp stock. It takes a hell of a lot to get into the 230 rwhp range IMO.
could have been the day you dynoed showing low numbers, or could be your parts. It seems your car dynoed kinda low stock though, was it extremely hot when you did?

By the way are the HKS header good. I've only actually seen one in person on my buddies old S, but he basically said that he didn't feel a difference with them on. Just curious about your review on them.

Also what kind of gains did you see from the cams? I've heard there isn't much to be expected.

Atleast I didnt see those gains even with extensive tunning.
did you swap ECU's or are you running a full EMS? I wonder how much more there is to be gained with V-FAC in addition to an AP1 ECU for an AP2 ECU.

We will see. I'll be having a dyno day with two AP2's with ECU swaps. One with a VFAC one without.

I got word that Toda Racing is going to relase their 2.4 liter stroker for AP1/AP2. The stroker will consist of a custom 100mm crankshaft made of billet. The bore is going to remain the same at 87mm. It will also included Toda forged rods/piston + rings. I think this kit will be more safe then the Inline pro 2.5 liter stroker.

Nah, very common for MY00 and 01s to dyno in the low 190s. Both dynos were done in the winter in NYC so weather was not a factor. It couldn't have been more then 50 degrees either day. I don't think the HKS header did much.

I swapped them back and forth on the same dyno day. Even with VAFCII tunning the best the 01 ECU could do was barely match the 04 ecu power albeit the extended rpm range wich is good. However I will be selling mine soon with key included.

of course, its also the first time (as far as I know) someone has done this on a dyno.

good point, but I figure with all the positive results I've read about, it's worth a try.

By any chance do you remember the numbers it put down at 8000rpm? I know it let's you rev past that with the 00-01 ecu, but I'm curious if it actually loses some power before going into those new rev ranges.

Makes no sense.... isn't the difference between all the MY ecu's just the a/f ratios? Therefore, if the 01 ecu is set to the same a/f ratios as the 04 ecu, you should have the same results. Then add in the extra 500rpms... and you have more hp since the ap2 doesn't lose power till then. (supposedly) Willie Gee and I will find out
Did you ever even drive with the 01' ecu before dynoing it? Or was it straight out of the ap1 s2k? The ecu needs to learn your car before you go dynoing it.
