with all the big ballers on this board how come nobody does any serious engine work???

if i had some of that big dog money i would be calling up Alaniz tech in a heart beat and get the Street Master package:

Big Bore up to 89mm. Brings displacement up to 2090cc.
Replace with high strength ductile iron sleeves.
ARIAS Forged piston kit. 11.5:1Cr
Rings (low tension type) made in USA.
Rods (Cunningham Ultralight rods made to our specifications)
New oil pump
Street Master head work (bowl work and chambers only)
New bronze valve guides (intake and exhaust)
.5mm Oversize valves on intake, stock size on exhast
New gaskets and seals (long block only)
Balance engine
Blueprint block to OEM specifications.

all that with either some ITB's or ported intake mani, j's intake, exhaust and header..whoa...i wouldnt be suprised if you could get like 260rwhp tuned with aem ems

I still dont get why everyone on this board is all about the jdm exterior look and no internal mods...all the b-series and k-series guys buy blocks and heads like its nothing and do crazy internal work...but not once i have i seen a guy that has doen things like this on this board..shit man..im bout to rob and bank and be the first.

ricky

for less you can get a f22 block, f20 head and EMS and get 240WHP, I/E/H is needed to.

hummm.. do u mean buy an extra head and block?? cause im pretty sure the ap1 and ap2 heads are the exact same thing...

this is basically like getting an ap2 and adding I/H/E with ems...i dont think i have seen 1 s2k with dyno proof hitting 240rwhp

a sotck f22 makes around 200-210. the f20C has better springs than the f22 head thus you can rev up to 9000. F20 head is better than f22 one.

i think you only need tha f22 crank and rods to have a f22 block, the rest is the same.

with EMS and I/H/E and extra 1000 rpm you can get 280 at the crank or 240WHP

that's the plan, but I will not be using alaniz to the the job. I plan on using laskey to build my head and block, but I've decided to leave that as one of the last modifications. Basic bolt-ons with an ems is going to show better results then just getting head work done. Higher compression is a different story but even 11.5.1 is not going to show better results then bolt-ons tuned.

Besides why spend so much to only raise compression to 11.5.1 when you can go higher. If your going to spend all that money building the motor in every aspect then might aswell go all out.

Thing is most of us are trying to reach our NA goals without having to work on the internals of the motor.

I am thinking about the only advantage in losing 1lb and 10oz is less rotating mass = faster revs. You would pick up a little power if you were to dyno after installing them. Will you be able to tell a difference? Probly not. Will it help? yes. Is it worth $260? I guess that is up to you to decide.
your right I don't see it giving much gain as far as hp goes, but it may help with the overall delivery of power.

very tru...those are just the specs from alaniz..if it was up to me i would go with 12:1 or 12.5.1 compression and get the competition head work package...of course that would mean more $$...may sound crazy but then again y do some people buy 4k big brake kits that dont perform that much better than stock and especially when they dont do serious track racing..lol

my thing is that everyone with bolt-ons has not hit that 240rwhp mark yet from what ive seen with basic bolt -ons and tuning...so at this point i think its time for internals..lol...all i know if i were some of these big ballers i would be getting some serious engine work done instead of doing all the cosmetic mods that sometimes looks ugly..lol...freaking switching bodykit every year and not 1 engine mod isnt cool at all..looking all good and then a freakin worked b-series or k-series civic leaves you in the dust...not cool at all!!!
defenitly feelin you on this. Some people are spending thousands on body kits every year, paint, wheels, and what not. I'd go with the fully built engine myself as well. hell if they can afford all those body kits that cost thousands upon thousands then they can afford higher octane for the built motors.
