"One will fit outside on the left of the spare tire bulge. The other one can fit INSIDE....there is a slot behind that panel, on the left of the spare tire itself."

Is this what you mean:

I'm not sure if an amp can fit into that spot:

"the cubbie hole you're referring to behind where you have the X1001 is tiny... i don't think you could get much under there but maybe a crossover or two? probably a distribution block? not much..."

Plus this would have serious heat issues. Two amps back to back? Hot hot hot
and hard to work on.

Here's a diagram of my solution:

SUB:
Phoenix Gold Ti 600.2
150W x 2 @ 14.4V
600W x 1 @ 14.4V
16 L x 10.0 W x 2.25 H

FRONTS:
Phoenix Gold Ti 400.2
100W x 2 @ 14.4V
400W x 1 @ 14.4V
12.25 L x 10.0 W x 2.25 H

Would somebody please tell me if this fits?!!

Yea....thats how I mean, except the amp is flat with the floor, not standing. I dont quite remember how much space was there, I just remember seeing space. If it doesnt fit, then, your way looks great too.

i think i should point one thing out... you can keep the spare in there all you want, but the instructions for storing the flat tire involve standing the tire upright in the tool well. so if you're using a well sub enclosure - have a backup plan for storing it or the flat tire... b/c both won't fit in the trunk at the same time.

i just don't want you to be shocked silly when you find this out.

now,
behind that amp there is some room... but not a whole lot. i ran w/ an amp tucked up in there until i had time to build my amp rack... it got hot sometimes (and was fan cooled) but this should help you get an idea...

sorry that i couldn't get to this sooner, but i got home from the hospital late tonight... *sigh*

so, when i saw this i took some pictures of the area in question... hopefully this will help you out...
and imo yes, i think you can get a 16" amp between the spare and trunk hinge.

hope these help...

Pjk3,
You are, with out any doubt, THE MAN! Thank you thank you thank thank you. Today I buy amps, and watch playoff games.

and I dream of downshifting at 90 mph and 700 watts.

PS> I hope that all of your loved ones will be healthy and happy. A late night at the hospital is never fun.

O.K.
Amps and speakers are found. Still a bit skeptical on the elemental designs sub. Decided to go with e 10 "O" .44 instead of the "A" series which require substantially more power. I've never heard this sub before and I am going strictly on recommendations.

Here's the dilemma:
Right now I've got a pioneer HU that I will be taking from my Integra GSR (Car is for Sale!) and putting it in the S2k. This summer I will buy an ALPINE HU, that is when ALPINE starts to sell some of their headunits that control ipods. Until then I am stuck with the Pioneer.

Do I buy Lucid's dash control for the Pioneer? Once it is installed do I need to get an entirely new kit for the ALPINE? If So, I wait until summer to buy the Lucid system only for Alpine. But if the two are interchangable, or if I have to change only a part of the system, I buy now.

WHATTA I DO?
TELL ME GURU.

i'm glad the measurements help... let me know and i'll get more as you need them, but just know that it may take a bit of time to get them sometimes... (wife's got twins in the oven and has been on bed/hospital rest for 3 months now... hopefully, she'll pop soon... )

well, just so you know -- i bought the ED subs completely blind myself (as did a couple others)... based on some recommendations and reviews... i was not disappointed. if you want to see the entire saga on that you can check out the linky here
none of use were disappointed at all. i seem to recall one guy buying it and being unhappy, but i think he tested it outside of an enclosure??

only 700 watts? wuss.

for DCI info -- check out these threads...

if you don't get a good answer there, PM modifry. he's the creator and master. based upon the photo in SC_Highlander's post - it shows the dip switch options for the first DCI, and it has Pioneer and Alpine on the same DCI. the only question that remains is if your HU is compatible w/ his programming... assuming your pioneer is compatible w/ the remote he based his programming on, the same DCI should work for both head units.

You've got to be one proud PAPA.
What's that, there's gonna be three lil' Phils running around soon?!

There goes the neighborhood.

Best of luck to you and yours. I'm sure 3 months of bedridden pregnancy isn't fun for either of you. But soon crying babies: in real life stereo!!
