Who will we need to call to buy this kit? BRP? SOT? Flyin Miata? Sorry if this question annoys anyone, I just want to buy it as soon as its available. Im sure im one of many in line, but no updates or info seem to be available anywhere else. If anyone knows where to direct me, just pm me. If not, hopefully no hurt in asking.

Laurent, please keep those updates coming! I love hearing the rumors of you car all the way in the East.

A couple of the groups who will be distributing the kit have been picked but it is not public knowledge. Once the kit is out of the Beta phase and a good stock pile of parts and blowers are available then the distributors will be announced.

A couple more pics of the NACA duct. I cleaned it up a bit more and got some flat/satin black paint on it. Will be good enough until I get the front end repainted (hoping before the Homecoming event in Cali).

Looks nice. I wish I knew when I would be able to get my hands on a kit.

Hey WLaurent,

I have a question for you if you have a second. If I am judging correctly from the install pics, the mounting of the supercharger requires the stock heatshield over the header? In other words, would most aftermarket header be incompatible with this kit or could the mounting brackets be modified by a DIY'er to mount the blower?

I am just getting bored waiting for kits to be retailed and was thinking about blowing some money on perhaps a mugen header. I don't want to splurge if theis kit is highly dependant on stock hardware for installation and have to unload an overpriced header down the road.

Thanks for any feedback.

You either need the OEM header or one that uses the factory heat-shield. You could probably install the kit without the lower bracket (the one that mounts to the header - see pic below) - but I would be concerned with the heat that would be generated without the heatshield.

Thanks, good to know. I know that the Mugen comes with a new heatshield but not sure about bolt locations on that one.

Say I have another question if you can indulge me, somewhere in this thread you were doing dyno testing and did not want to do any pulls with the non IC mode because it was 90 degrees and posted something to the effect that it might not be a good idea.

Here it is:

Dyno'd today at DynoComp in Scottsdale, AZ. Only had time to dyno the IC kit, plus it was 90 degrees and I do not think the non-IC kit is a suitable option at those temps.

If I buy the kit I was thinking of going non-IC because, well, the power level of the IC kit would probably get me into more trouble. I know I would not behave myself.

Anyway, even in Minnesota we get mid nineties about 20 days a year, and your post seemed to intimate that the non-ic would be a bad idea in hot temps. Is that misreading or do you have reason to think that?
