Well hell, I was saving pennies for their diff kit... Guess that's not gonna happen now.
Don't let one bad situation with a customer/company cloud the view of an entire business.
Why not? I sure wouldn't give my hard earned money to someone that treated one of our members so poorly. If there are no repercussions for poor business ethics, what's to keep vendors honest?

Edit - Oh I see, you live nearby. Local pride maybe?

I agree with this, doesn't matter how good there kit might be, they screwed someone over that was a member of our community.

The problem is because they have washed their hands of you it's free money.......they haven't any interest in what it's going to cost from that point onwards.

I mentioned to Fernando( Kings Performance) that having priced components and labour it was going to cost me $7-8000 he told me I was being extravagant and going over the top.....yet he charges $12.000 for a built engine, something of a contradiction in my opinion.
Really painful...

It seems that some shops think that when their customers are overseas ones. They can do what they want...
Did you sell the s2000 that the CNC-built engine was to be installed in _before_ you received the engine?
We received the engine in September 2014, we begin to install it on the car in January 2015, report all problems on it on February 2015 at the same time discussed with Jason how can it we resolve this problem. He knew that we paid for a track season and that we have a deadline. February 2015 to May 2015 it was a left and right conversation because he want us to advance shipping returns to inspect it. Our first track begun at June. So we had to take a decision to not loose more $$ and missed this season. So we sold the car to invest that money on a other one.

To resume, _NO_ we don't sold the car _before_ receiving the engine

All that point were describe on the first 3 pages of the topic. Here the link to the post for the same question

I hope that is not Jason that saying this because if it's the case. That's a lie and i have so many mails about it that he couldn't deny this point.

EDIT : Link to the post added
This he-said he-said is pretty tedious. NOTE you didn't actually say when you sold the car.. you seem to be hiding in a shotgun blast of posts that don't paint an overly crisp timeline on all of this.

But anyway, in the post you referenced you said:
"You said that we "suddenly" sold our car, please take into account that we made contact with Jason in December 2013, we received the engine in September 2014. Try to install it and note problems on February 2015, his proposition of flying to us come in May 2015.

Between February and May, it was a "left to right" discussion."

Honestly, reading between the lines, you're pretty shadey yourself. Makes sense that it took until May for this conversation to converge (culminating with Jason willing to fly there I might add!). I have to believe Jason felt like he was getting scammed himself. It took you 6 months to attempt to install the engine you were eagerly waiting for!?

None of this is _really_ making any sense. Why did you have to sell the car to get on the track quicker if you intended to replace the engine anyway?

Basically this thread should just die. Sorry but this is an absolute clusterF**k that doesn't get any more clear the more you spew details.

Jason it's you ? AHAHAH
I don't know who you are and what do you want to have in term of informations, you can trust and defend Jason point of view. I'll not try to deter it.

Just ask him how many time the build took (and the export for me as my carrier was ready for a long time) and how many time we discussed about the shipping returns and why did he _ASKED_ me to _ADVANCED_ the fee of the return. For Jason, take the cost of return is too expensive but at the same moment, he send diff kit to Australia. He didn't consider the weight.....

How can he put the wrong parts in the block ans says we can run with this ? Why did he don't share picture of the assembly ? ... You know for what i wait 6 months before fitting this engine ? Jason explain you my project with this engine and the car ? It's me who should be held hostage to that Jason come on holiday in France and build a new engine ?

I can write a long list of arguments but i'm just sharing my experience with him here and all mails, instants messaging, photos and videos were shared to admins and the communitee.

Make your own opinion

You pick a fight with anyone who tries to point out that you had a role in your bad situation getting all screwed up worse than Jason screwed it up (indirectly or directly).

And like your broken english, all your details and timeline are completely incomprehensible.
I can easily see why you'd be a nightmare customer.

Again, I'm not saying Jason didn't screw up.. HE DID! But you aren't exactly easy to communicate with.

See that is irrelevant. I wouldn't go shopping an engine build in France. That is asking to get screwed.

When you offer international services, you open yourself up to the possibility of troubled communications. Lets not try to blame this on the OP being from overseas. When you deal with international clients, you should be especially thorough and diligent in communications to insure that there is no confusion.

The OP is allowed to sell and do whatever with their car and their motor, it's their money and property. Promises were made by the vendor and they weren't kept, that is clear. Anything else is a moot point.

Every business will have one upset customer. Be it justified or not. No matter what they will not be happy. I do know Jason and yes he is local. Not a "friend" other than a fellow S2000 owner like all of you. Visited his shop and did a tune on my car. Do I trust him less now.....a little but it would only to be sure that I double check delivered product.

Honestly if I were to ever get another engine.....it would be OEM or if I re-built I would be part of the re-build process and have that person install/tune the car. Never to order and install....and surely not order international the install.

Just my opinion and my view.

Agree. This thread needs to just die!

Chive on.
