You have the IP 3mm head gasket dont you? I may have an idea on what is causing the problems with this HG on some applications. When you pull your head and look at the HG, split the gasket from the 3mm spacer and let me know if you notice any metal slivers stuck to and bent over on the edges of some parts of the spacer. I hand about 6 of these on my 3mm spacer that were in the way of the actual OEM HG sealing well to it. Its like getting dirt on a window when putting window tint on; it wont seal flat and well, if you know what I mean. I actually took a razor blade and found all the metal slivers from the machining that were left behind and bent them up. I then cut them off as good as I could and used a fine grinding stone and ground them (BY HAND like using sandpaper) down flush and smooth with the rest of the 3mm spacer.

This is very interesting... You would think they would have made sure the spacer was de burred and clean.

Yeah, I was very surprised when I started looking closely at the spacer after I pulled the gasket halves off and saw the slivers of metal left over. I saw them and thought.....man, this cant be good for the HG to seal. It's quite possible that this could be contributing to a lot of issues with people blowing the IP 3mm HG.

My car WAS ROCK SOLID last season, although I was only making 400-500, but it was factory solid.

Not a single glitch, this season has been anything but fun.

I had my share of problems in the beginning but they were mostly AEM or Greddy related, not much mechanical (knock on wood). Besides the very hot heat day I have had really no problems. I have three cars two I drive, I would consider all getting a beeter or limit your goals to under 500hp if your gonna daily drive it and run it hard. There are tons of reliable cars out there for very little money.
