I would assume install error as well but if they were installed incorrectly does it make sense that I put 180 street miles on it and 20+ pulls on the dyno before they became a problem? I dropped the head off at the machine shop they are gonna check the installed height of the valves and I'm gonna see if they can check the spring pressure as well but I doubt that could be a problem. Either way it'll get fixed and hopefully back together next week. Formula D is next week up here and I'd like to be able to drive it and park in the pits and show it off a little to friends.

It's hard to say since I have never seen this particular failure. but yeah in that short a time, i'd say either bad parts or install issue

Any chance the rocker arm can hit the retainer and push it down? Any marks?

Jay at realstreet swears by them, recommends them over the duals. Showed me a video by pac racing I think that shows how beehives move and how bouncy the duals looked.

Besides that I drove the car a couple times, vtec's not coming on so I gotta figure that out but otherwise its running good.
