Kraftwerks install instructions recommend replacing the fuel filter (if it's been more than 20k miles!) as part of their s/c intall. For any FI guys that have replaced the pump, is it worth the expense of replacing the filter? It seems to me to be a lifetime part, or nearly so. My '04 only has 60k miles on it.

Do you think they are referring to the sock on the bottom of the pump assembly, or the integral filter that is inside the plastic pump housing?

Definitely worth it if you are already replacing the pump. Can't hurt and good protection. Trust me, you don't want to have to pull it again just to check or replace the sock. It is a pain in the ass from what I remember.

I thought the sock was the only filter in the whole system? That is what I have always read and been told...

The Honda parts page lists 2 filters, one above the pump and also the sock. See #1 and #7 here:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...gry5=FUEL+TANK
(if that link doesn't work, go to the "Fuel Tank" section).

All together it's about $90 with shipping & handling, so I'd rather not waste my money if there's no need.

Anyone have any idea why the Full Blown 290LPH fuel pump is so much cheaper than the 270s?

Also, they have two options for the filter socks. Any real difference between the "long" and "short"?

Despite the GTR stealing your glory, that's still an amazing run man!
