probably...ok so not that intelligent. LOL Either way, I have never heard anyone saying that the air/air (intercooler) was good, except for the guy selling it.
Go get another drink! lol j/k

Damn I bought the wrong kit!

In my attempt to find some decent IAT's I started considering the air/air...because once the water gets hot, well regardless of how big the pump is and how big the actual heat exchanger is (or one that will fit), it pretty much stays hot. But, I was warned by everyone that I would lose anywhere from 4 to 8 psi due to amount of pipe, so I never did it....BUT, depending on where you live you may never have an issue. I am in NC and we have many hot days in the summer.

As far as your other questions...The CT SC came with a FPR, which you will need, not sure about the ECU piece, I think there is some sort of piggyback system that will allow you to not invest in a standalone...I got an AEM V1 EMS. I started with the NOVI 1000. You should also look into getting a larger fuel pump as well. You can usually find most of these things in the Marketplace area on here...except for the CT FPR...I sold mine but it took me like a year. There was another guy who had one, but he did not have the bracket you need to mount.

So like you said, the water absorbs heat quickly which is good, but the heat is staying with the water too. I live in Oregon, so I should've gotten one with the aftercooler.

Yes the CT ESM is included in the kit, I think that's the piggyback system you're talking about. In regard to fuel system, do fuel injectors and fuel rail need to be upgraded after getting a larger fuel pump?

Will adding a sc make my exhaust quieter? I believe I've read before that a turbo would but I imagine that's due to using exhaust to spool the turbo. Just curious and hoping the sc may quiet down the car a little.
Yes, you will not even be able to hear the exhaust after you install a SC...crickets baby!
I had a s2ki members car at my job for its yearly oil change and that fawken sc was very loud in the cabin..Ive had several loud cars including 2 rx7's but id rather have a Turbo that comes to life when I want it to instead of the sc spooling all the time based on rpms even when you don't need it..

Don't you get more linear power distribution curve with the superchargers, hence it feels more "naturally aspirated" ? CMIIW

Right the ESM is the piggy back, the rail does not need to be upgraded and if you are just running the base pulley, I don't think you have to change out your pump or injectors.

I thought the whole quieter exhaust was a joke... but since apparently it isn't...neither are going to really change the exhaust noise level. A SC sounds like a coffee can about half full of nuts and bolts being shaken with a bit of a whine in there as well. We all know what a turbo sounds like.

The exhaust being quieter was a joke to me until someone took it seriously lol.

Btw, someone is selling skunk2 stage 2 cams pretty cheap. But I need to upgrade my valve springs and retainers, so I've come up with this skunk 2 alpha series springs and retainers

What do you think?

I personally would recommend changing your cams. There's been a lot of trial and error in the domain and nothing seems to be worth it. Especially reliability wise.

-My exhaust didn't get quieter with the sc.

-You will need a fuel pump but not injectors or fuel rail

-the ESM ain't a piggyback. It's just their to hide to boost to the oem ecu.

- I ran an water to air unit before. At the track after 2 runs and obviously 2 heat soak in between the water got hot to a point where my NA buddy was faster then me. I swap to an fmic (air to air ) and solve the problem. The "aftercooler " make a psi lost of about 0.5 psi. And with the fmic I saw a total of 0.8 psi.

So if you ask me ( I'm not a vendor ) I would choose an fmic anytime. Especially with that minus 0.3 psi of diference.

Maintenance is way easier without that f..king water , the engine bay is less full and it does not heat soak.

If you want to sell you fmic piping I got a friend who will take in right now
