Does anyone know what changed and what I should look for?
The 04-05 and 06+ use the same keepers/retainers. Keepers come in different degrees; what degree keeper is needed with the Ferrea retainers? Honda used a 7 degree keeper on AP1's (which is why you can use AP1 keepers when using aftermarket retainers). If you're buying retainers/keepers for your AP2, don't reuse the factory (AP2) keepers; they have a different keeper grove angle, ostensibly.

I would recommend a relay (not sure what you mean by reversing the polarity?). Simply use the factory power wire as a trigger for the relay.

Just as an FYI to everyone... On Tuesday I ordered a 3.2" SC pulley from SOS, and a Spoon radiator cap from GoTuning, and paid standard shipping on both. They are located in Arizona and California respectively while I am in NC. Today, 48 hours later, I received both items in the mail. I had great communication with reps of both vendors and couldn't be happier, as always, with both of them. Love it. Keep supporting these great vendors.

LOL, I'm scheduled for next weekend. Just learned I have to travel for work next week, so its gonna be an interesting time flying home Friday night and turning around Saturday morning to drive across NC to make the tune date. But I'm sticking to it for now; want this thing done.

Lol sounds like me. Traveling next week for three days and then I will try to get it all together and tuned by next Saturday because then I leave for the west coast for two weekends. Then three days after that I'm off to Myrtle this turbo needs to come in ASAP!
