Back on track here, how is the belt's on these holding up? The belt on my CTSC liked to start slipping every few thousand miles and needed to be adjusted all the time.

It was really quite annoying, I'm not sure how many others had that problem with the CTSC though.

This kit is awesome! The charger compliments the car very well. It makes great power and has a smooth delivery. Im glad I ditch my turbo setup and went with this kit. Thanks Chris!
I see that you and Bagherra have the kit on an Ap1. Do either of you have the updated tuning device from SOS installed as well? The device the has the set lowered vtec and fuel.

If so, how smooth is the transition to vtec? And compared to a NA S how is the pull up top? Is it night and day difference or just better? I would imagine top end in the higher gears would be a dramatic improvement.

Also, do you both have stock gearing? I would like to one day become a member of the SOS crew with my ap1, but I don't know if I would just go with the complete kit, or with the tuner kit and an emanage ultimate , injectors, and maybe a 9-10psi pulley? Thats why I wanted to know more about the updated tuning device they have included in the 2000-2005 kits.

Thanks guys. And SOS seems to be the best SC out there overall imho!

Also, any heat soak issues @ idle with the fliter exposed like that? I would be interested to find a way to modify the airbox to somehow fit around the supercharger and add the aut cooling plate.

I am sure SOS looked into that with all of their R&D but I was just wondering if anyone has noticed any bogging off the line on a hot day?

Im using AEM EMS. I have not noticed any heat soaking issues.
The transition to vtec is good and it pulls like crazy. My tires arnt the best (which is why im getting new ones tomorrow) it spins them in the top of third gear.

I khave stock gearing. IMO changing the gearing with the charger would be not a good idea since you have boost and first gear would be totaly usless.

If you go with some mangement I would recommend going KPRO or AEM. I had an emanage on my car when it was turboed and it didnt work that great.

Ive never heard of a visual check in NJ or NY. The most they do is OBDII and a visual check if you have a cat. thats all.

They've popped my hood on ....

1997 Mitsu Eclipse (twice)
2000 s2000 (once in 2003)
2004 Sti (once end of 2004, bought it with 6k miles and for some reason no sticker)
2000 s2000 (once end of 2006)
2006 s2000 (just about a month and half ago)

And NONE of them had any visible aftermarket parts except the last s2k with the CTSC.

There's a whole new thread to discuss this now, lets not clutter up SOS's thread.

I'm using the FVM from SoS. When I upgrade to Stage 2 I'll likely use AEM. Transition to Vtec is really smooth in mine. I notice the change more from the noise my Invidia makes when the changeover occurs. No sudden joint and it continues to pull strong to redline. No heat soaking here either and I have stock gears as well.

Other than the significant bump in power it seems like I am still driving a stock S. I know turbos will get me more power, but this matches my driving habits and needs very well. Once I do Stage 2 I'll stop. Perhaps later I'll build the motor for more boost. I'm happy with the results.

I'm getting mine dynoed tomorrow.

I have a Spoon 4.77 diff. I guess I have to go back to stock gear ratio. Does anyone had or have SC with 4.77 diff?

We ran our car with the 4.77 final gear for quite some time. I don't think it's a deal breaker at all even for a street car. I would recommend driving it with the supercharger system for you to make the judgement yourself.

Cheers,
