Hey all, did my first track day with my greddy kit installed last week, always been so use to keeping the car within that 6-9k powerband and found the turbo didnt have as much of an impact as I had hoped, wondering what the simplest way of moving the powerband up would be without having to change the whole kit. From what i've researched the t518z is basically just a td05-18g, I could get a kinuagwa front housing and 20g compressor which will help a fraction being a 3" inlet or the other alternative ive been looking into is perhaps a gtx29/76r, has anyone fitted a gtx28/29 to our kit yet? hoping it doesnt have the same headaches as fitting a gtx30.

I was in the same boat 5 years ago. the stock greddy kit did not felt right in the upper power band so i switched to a fast spooling GTX3071R setup. you can still see it here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-fo...build-1027854/

Im anxious to see what the NEW v2 setup is going to do. I did loved the simplicity and the reliability of the greddy kit, but hated the poorly tuneable emanage and the crappy powerband wich lost all its power above 6K

Hey mate, thanks for the response. just went through your whole thread, sweet build! I'm from Aus and our RHD cars are a pain in the ass, if you want a low mount the greddy kit is the only one that doesn't hit our steering shaft, and if you want high mount, it more than likely hits our ABS, for reasons I'm not going into now I don't want a forward mounted turbo. It sucks because the p-tuning kit looks like the dream turbo kit for us, its neat and tucked away but just flat out will never fit. I contacted gcg and they recon they can fit a gtx30/71 core into the t518z, I don't know enough about high flowing turbos to know if this is the right answer but it sounded pretty good at the time....

I wanted to show some different restrictor sizes real quick.
The left is a full port -4an, middle is the Greddy supplied fitting of unknown restrictor size, right is a -4an with a 1.5mm restrictor.

Greddy doesn’t know the size of their own restrictor, Mitsubishi won’t comment and a local turbo shop recommend the 1.5

Im trying to locate a -4an fitting to match the Greddy restrictor, my crude measurement shows 2mm but it could be off. I’m gonna order a handful of sizes. Every aftermarket turbo company I talk to recommends the 1.5 for the T518z, seems small even with our oil pressure.

Ok after taking measurements I drilled out the -4an fitting I had from a 1.5mm to 2mm, the original Greddy size. I know it’s a small detail but I couldn’t find this info anywhere, not even Greddy. I’ve read about a handful of Greddy oil feed line failures.

Greddy fitting on the right, -4an drilled out to 2mm on the Left.

it seems our turbo kits are basically sr20 turbo kits that have been made in reverse to fit f20s.
any idea if this would a greddy manifold? My only concern is the fact that on SRs the turbo is on the left and on ours its on the right. idk how that would effect alignment

yea its a revised manifold, new V2 kit is actually on my personal car. Intake piping is also slightly changed to have less aggressive bend / bigger piping. Downpipe will be a 3" downpipe as well. Also using a Garrett turbo now as well.

@EvasiveMotorsports When V2 is officially released, it might be a good time to retire this thread and have you start a new V2 Ultimate GReddy turbo kit thread! The old kit has run its course as has this thread. It will be exciting to have all the related info for the V2 kit in a new, fresh, thread. Especially since it seems all the critical parts of the kit are being changed/updated. Just my $0.02.
