Looking for suggestions
Go drive a STOCK Type R Teg (which I have) or from what I hear, Exige (suppose to be able to hang with the Hype R).
DanZilla is with me, as I imagine most people on this board are.
Who's tracking (twisties, not the 1/4) an S with 500+hp? Anyone chime in.

I auto cross my car and it boosted just cause the car has over 400hp doesn't mean it can't take a corner. a turbo system doesn't screw up the 50/50 ratio on it. or anything like that. only thing you also need to upgrade is your brakes. I know i am not over 500 hp but i am building a 2.4 stroker this winter, so i should be wayyy over it next summer, but that doesn't mean i wont auto-x the car. can i ask why you think just cause the car has more power it can't take a corner?

The argument is that highoctane is saying that a super high HP S will be the best car evar!!!11!!1one!!
And I said no, you can drive cars that are much more fun, with way less hp. My argument about how many people are tracking an S with 500+ hp is to show that almost all of the people running there cars here in HPDE or time attack spend money elsewhere ($2000 coilovers, $1500-2000 Wing, underbody diffusers, weigh savings, safety, etc).
Guess it flew over some people's heads. And you know Auto-x is a little different than TA correct?
My whole point is that YES, you can dump 10gs into a turbo kit and have a nice straight line car, but the money can be spent elsewhere (or some will argue not at all) and you still have AN AMAZING TA/twisties car.
I am sure a lot of people here would say take $5000 and spend it on lessons and track time, then the other $5000 on tires, brake pads, fluids, coilovers, roll bar, and a helmet.
Ok, for real, maybe it's just me in this thread that is stirring up the ruckus.
no ruckus, but confused, by your posts, I know ta and auto-x are different. I understand your point of spending the money elsewhere. I guess is all depends on the op of what he wants to do with his car, kinda why i hate threads like this, too little info, because everyone is going to give what they would do not what would help the op. and i am not opposed to any modifications to cars, to each there own.
The op could also go out and get a rx-7 steering set-up, and a nice diff and go out drifting for his 10 g's lol. so I guess it all comes back to asking what is he really into? op tell us, then we will be able to make suggestions better based on that information.
