03threefiftyz, how much faster were you in the Meadowlands NE Div over STR?
Here are the northeast divisionals results...2 seconds there - http://autox4u.com/results/2012/nediv2012fin.htm
I'm hoping I'll do better in my own car. That being said, I definitely have a ways to go driver wise but it might suck being the only BSP S2000 not running a 2.2. I know from driving Jon's car how much a difference it makes coming out of the slower corners.
Ok, well here goes. Submitted a letter to the SEB (#9604) requesting allowance in SP to use aftermarket hardtops with the following limitation:
1) The hardtop must mount using OEM hardware to the OEM mounting points
2) The hardtop cannot be any more than 5" longer than an OEM hardtop to allow for variances in hardtop design while preventing hardtops that extend the full length of the car (i.e the Spoon hardtop).
My reasoning is that there isn't a single competitor in a convertible that would want to run with the added weight of a hardtop if they don't need to anyway. OEM hardtops are hard to come by and come at a high cost used when we can instead by a replica or other hardtop for much less to provide the same functionality with no added performance advantage.
I doubt this will get passed but hey, I have to try.
