S2000 STR prep resource
Anybody interested in some 17x8.5" forged NSX wheels? I have 4. They aren't in great shape cosmetically but they do the job. I have the balanced as well as we could do and there is a slight vibration felt at 70mph on the highway. Nothing major though that you wouldn't feel through a stiff suspension anyway
Shoot me a pm for more details and I'll take some pics tonight/tomorrow. $500+shipping/pp and anyone can have them by early next week.

Nick drove on those for a long time last year. I personally wouldn't use them because of how they work on concrete. I don't often spin my CRX but they had me spinnin.
Very fine line of grip vs slip. No room for error and they required a lot of precision to go fast. Not great longitudinal grip - might be because of the shocks though - we'll see here the first week of March how much better the Penske/Toyo combo is.

I'll be running the Toyo R1R. Back quite a few pages ago, there was discussion on tires. This thread is really turning into a monolith.
Anyway, before I chose to run the Toyos I tried out the Dunlops and was not impressed. I've planned my tire choice on the nature of it's behavior on concrete since that's the race I want to win.
Concrete as a surface tends to have higher grip levels than asphalt but also has a quicker and more abrupt break away. Pairing that characteristic with a tire that has the same characteristic inherent can be bad- see results of Bridgestone drivers at last years nats.
The Toyo has four things going for it over the competition.
1. Tolerance of large slip angles and extremely progressive breakaway
2. Excellent longitudinal grip
3. Excellent rain characteristics
4. Excellent cool weather grip
Number 1 and 2 are most suited to the S2000. The car needs to put it's power down and it needs to be able to carry a bit of slip angle so that driving it will be less razor's edge which allows for more consistent times. I've been extremely impressed with the Toyo's ability to put the power down on corner exit.

Not impressed to be honest.

Ive heard from other reviews that they overheat real easily on heavier cars like ours and that they are kind of vague. Do you feel this to be the case on the S2000
I don't plan on having a co-driver at pros.

is thier any other tire that will get good grip vs slip without having to run toyo's? Maybe somthing that gets alittle more life and you could also drive around on.
