Where is the entrance to the dryer hose located? I didn't see any way to get the intake part of the hose into any fresh air without cutting.

There's a hole right there from the factory. I had to swivel my horn to make it work... but it's still bolted to the same location. Completely legal. No cutting whatsoever... (except for the massive hole in the side of your air box...).

**EDIT** I'll take some more detailed pictures when I install my new K&N later this week.

I'm curious too - I thought I looked for any holes to do that with and didn't find any

You're kidding right? Am I missing something? Did just 04-05's have this hole? It's a hole right where the horn is. Pretty big...

It's official. 04-05 is the car to have because of a hole in the engine bay. +100 HP!

**EDIT** Here's a pic I found just googling "S2000 Engine Bay."

It's clearly there...

hahahaha, I knew I picked the wrong year! I'm going to petition the SEB to allow us to take a hole saw to our engine bay now because of the unfair advantage that 100+ hp gives you.

Can't see photobucket at work, so I'll take a look when I get home. I didn't look that closely when I looked before, just kind of a quick glance, but still if there's a hole the size of that dryer vent there I'll be very concerned about my past self's vision.

I have that hole in the engine bay in front of the strut tower... my question was where to go to get it to the front of the car. The front grill opening seems to be complete enclosed in plastic shrouding to guide air into the radiator. I don't see any way to send the dryer hose in front of the radiator without cutting shrouding, and I don't see anywhere else where there is clean airflow.

Yeah... I am currently using that hole in my MY2001 to house my flash brights to open up my garage door opener. :-) BTW, notice that some things in that picture are backwards? i.e. battery is on the "wrong side".

Yeah, I just route the dryer vent directly into that hole. That's where it stops. It isn't routed to the front of the car to actually have a "ram air" system. Really, it's just pulling cooler air from the wheel well.

I did pull off my entire bumper one day trying to figure out a way to route it... no luck.

Also, yes, I did notice how there was a lot of stuff that was backwards in that picture. Is that because it's an AP1? Or is that the JDM version?

Ah! I see.... I guess I made an assumption that it ran to the front. I see you never said it did in the first post. Thanks for the clarification. Saves me pulling the bumper like I had planned . I do plan on still doing it. Some cool air is better than none!.

For the picture with the Brake on the other side. It has to be a right hand drive car (JDM probably). You can see the brake booster on the exhaust side, which means the foot pedals are on that side.

Sorry for the delayed pic mike, here is how I used the water heater blanket to insulate the K&N FIPK. It has seemed to be very effective so far. After a run the outside of the airbox will be warm but the inside is still nice and cold. I have also had none of the heat soak some people seem to mention with the intake and that is even with back to back autocross runs with downtime where the car is just sitting for 2 minutes until the next run.
