Nice work. Did you machine that bearing cup yourself?
http://secure.chassisshop.com/partlist/6455/

I used the 3/4" bearing (1-7/16" cup) with spacers to accept the 12mm Penske stud - from the looks of my Bilsteins - it would they appear to have the same 12mm stud.

A friend made me 3/4" - 12mm spacers that I pressed into the bearing, but I also picked up some hard plastic 3/4 - 1/2 spacers from McMaster that will also work for those that don't have access to a lathe (can see them in the pics below).

Painted drying on my neighbors A/C

Bottom side with plastic spacer and snap ring installed

Bearings pressed in (mucked up my pretty bedliner coating...)

Installed with rubber sealing washer and safety washer

We need 3 more to make a class at the Lincoln ProSolo. Anyone still planning on signing up that hasn't yet? Late registration fee starts this Friday.

Is the Berk high flow cat even STR legal?

E. Catalytic Converters
ST, STS, STR – Catalytic converters may be replaced by aftermarket units. Replacements must:
1) Be certified for use in that vehicle application by the manufacturer or reconditioner,
2) Bear correct EPA-mandated labeling,
3) Be of the OE quantity and type (i.e. oxidation, three-way, etc.) and
4) Be used in the same location(s), relative to the chassis, as the OE converter(s).
This does allow for high performance replacements, provided they meet all restrictions herein.
does the Berk have EPA labeling? Certified for use by the manufacturer?

Sounds more like the rule is allowing people to replace the rusted out cat on their ST spec 89 Civic with an OE version than allowing a HFC for us...

Its legal. The Magnaflow Spun Cat has EPA labeling and its sizing is certified for use in our cars per their "Engine Size" way of specifying what cat is used on what car.

Technically, the MFG is not Berk. Its Magnaflow.

What he said. Berk just makes welds it onto piping for the S2k. The core is completely within the confines of the original cat, (I held them up to each other and am now kicking myself for not talking a photo.)

But dont forget the Berk high flow cat has to be modified to be 100% legal.

It comes with an O2 fowler/extension built in. You have to cut it off and weld the O2 bung directly onto the pipe.

Lower perches and sleeves are 140 for all 4. As for upper mounts, the stock OEM mount will work.
James, where can you get that pricing? I was quoted about $240 for sleeves and lower and upper perches. I saw in the DA TC Kline Koni thread that Robinson seated the upper perch into the OEM top mount. Is that the right way to go?

Jason, thanks for the info on the Berk pipe. I think a local muffler shop should be able to get that done cheaply.

Oops, I goofed. It was 160 for all the shocks, but not including the upper perch (just collar and lower perch). I think it's 22 each for an upper perch, so $240 would be about right. As for using the upper perch in the stock upper mount, it's definitely an option. Robinson's car seems to be working ok what that setup, and I believe Glagola also has a setup like that with his Motons. As for me, I have a couple of ideas I'd like to try, but first I'm going to run the OEM upper mounts without the upper perches to get a baseline on the suspension, play with it a bit, and then figure out what I exactly need without just dumping money into parts that may have not been necessary.

Ride quality is infinitely better with the Spherical Mounts. I can't believe it to be honest. I thought it might get a little better - but not this much. I just took the car for a spin around the block (really uneven concrete slabs) and I can't believe how much better the car feels. There is no more bounciness at low speeds.
