The biggest thing is probably the difference between front and rear spring rates. The FSB may also be contributing.

-3 deg camber in the rear may be too much for the Star Specs. I reduced from -3 to -2 and it feels better, but need more time as that was run for just one event. Rear toe is a personal choice. You will see it range from -.25 to 0 depending on the person. I think spec for an AP2 is -1/8.

Spring rates are too low for the rear and WAY TOO MUCH rear camber. You don't need more than 2.2-2.3 deg.

Great info guys! Thanks for the help.

On a side note I did a side by side visual comparison between a 25540 Toyo R1R (17x9 wheel) next to my 24540 Dunlop on my 17x9s for the MX-5 and they were very similar in width.

Mine ran for the entire season last year with AFR's in the high 14's at WOT and I never had any issues. Spark plugs looked perfectly fine. I wouldn't worry about it - just don't get too greedy with the VAFC.

Nick, did you hook up the VTM wire on the VAFCII? I got this hacked up harness (that is supposedly for a VAFCII) that i'm reassembling and it has the VTM wire connected to the VACFII. The APEX-i diagram doesn't show this hooked up. I'm wondering if i need to disconnect it from the VAFCII and reconnect it to the ECU.

I don't remember - I seem to remember the only two wires I didn't hook up were the TDC and VTC wires...but maybe thats why I had issues.

on star specs I have been happy with 700/600 spring rates on stock 01 bars... very balanced. i know glagola and nick run bigger bars up front and stiffer front springs than me... I think its a lot of driver preference

Thats sorta true but not really. Some things have changed in the past month or so.
