Im thinking of starting off my STR build with some new wheels 17x9 ULR's. But ive never driven a car with 255's all around before, im wondering if having the comptech adjustable bar at full stiffness will neutralize the additional oversteering on a stock suspension.

[QUOTE=marcrx5,May 2 2010, 08:10 PM] I just picked up a MY00 with 55K on it that I plan to run in STR.

what tires did you end up putting on those wheels?
I moved my star specs over. They seem to like the 9" wheel better than the 8.5. A nice noticeable difference.

Between the bar and an alignment I think you can balance it out. It may not be ideal but it will work.

All things being equal, I think your biggest bang for the buck would be investing in rims and tires for STR first. I have my own plan for STR and exhaust is pretty much last after rims/tires, suspension, LSD. Although in the end, it's your preference.

However, I am curious to hear about what sorts of exhausts people are running. The captain_pants sounds like the best so far.
I have the Capt_Pants modded Exhaust and love it... One of the regions i run with runs a 93 at 50 on slow response mode rule... Ive never even been told I was close. One guy swore I had to be over and asked them to pay extra attention when I went by and nothing

The comptech at full stiff will do more than "neutralize" the car. It will cause understeer. But, there is a good range in that bar so it should work in one of the positions.

Jeremy, those wheels look great.

I have the T1R 70R-EM and it's really quiet. I've never even hit 91dB. It usually hangs in the 88-90dB at 50ft. I also have a KN intake to add to the noise. I'd highly recommend that exhaust.

so my car feels really balanced in transitions, turn in, and corner exit, but I seem to have some understeer mid corner, what would you all recommend to tune this out.

Current setup

Valved SA Koni's
700f/600r springs
01 front bar and no rear bar

Alignment
Front
camber -2 (maxed out)
caster 5.5 deg
toe 0

Rear
Camber -2.5 (set to minimum)
Toe .2 deg toe in each side .4 total

Would less toe in in the rear help?

obviously I would love to get more neg camber up front but money is tight for the next month or so and I would have to choose between seat time and parts and I know seat time is far more valuable

edited alignment specs because of typos

Are these camber joints STR Legal? I only see control arm modification allowed in the rules. One can do an offset busing... but this is an offset ball joint.

If they aren't legal, what camber adjustment is? Also, what about the driveshaft spacers? I simply don't have the knowledge, time, or money to flip my buckets and would like to do the driveshaft spacers as a "quick fix." I have a tour comming up in two weeks and I want to make sure the car is legal.

More front camber. I'd get some camber adjustment and get at least 2.4 out of the front.

I am wondering the same thing; I maxed out camber at the front and only got 1.7.
Do you guys really think we could benefit from that much front camber with street tires?
