I believe the springs are 670F 560R (I wussed out somewhat). Sounds like both you and Steve think it's worth a shot with the big tires. I'll give 'er a spin.

[QUOTE=imstimpy,Jul 8 2010, 10:24 AM] People like the warm fuzzy feeling knowing they bought a set of tires somebody else won on. I find it absurd, but some people dig it.
On top of surface types and conditions, the car or even the setup on the same type of car changes how effective a tire will be. The course style, the driver sample, or competition within the class can skew results. Under a wide enough set of conditions, nearly all of the current crop of tires can win. What can win at a National Tour may not work at Nationals given temp and course differences. blah blah blah blah

On the other hand, I have a Gendron bar sitting in my garage collecting dust -- you're welcome to borrow it if you want. I'm in Bellevue.

I ran 700/550, stock front bar, no rear bar, and 255s two weeks ago and, while it was soft, it drove quite well with hints of understeer.

That's a pretty cool study tool you've got going there but I would advise against taking too much stock in the data. It's just too early with car development and the drivers add too large of a variable.
This is just a first order look at some data, but likely does not mean too much.
Maybe it just shows the Hankooks do better in warmer weather than the Toyos?
Time will tell, but it sure is nice to have more than one choice of tire in a class.

Yeah. I should have put a bunch of caveats so no one takes it too seriously. Like has been mentioned there are so many variables.

On that chart, I'd be willing to bet that virtually all the Toyos are on MX5's and virtually none are on S2000's.

I thought it was common knowledge that the Hankooks do better in warmer weather than Toyo's. Heck, I think virtually every tire does better than Toyo's in warm/hot weather. All I've ever heard of is people burning them up.
