The ECU/O2 sensor wouldn't be able to adjust (not necessarily optimize) this? I'd tend to think otherwise...
During closed loop it makes some adjustments to the a/f via the o2 sensor but only to an extent. Open loop it will run lean as doesn't adapt the map to the new parts. I have seen many dyno lean from just an intake and an exhaust. Intake even being just a k&n drop in filter.

Intakes are not worth the money either. No peak gains and it losses a bit of low end grunt. The option that gives the most power is removing the air box lid but on hot days that could hurt the performance.

^^ im pretty sure you can delete the A/C
You could a few years back but they changed the rules. And I could because I have a CR but non CR's S2000 can not because it was not a option on the car.

The only three options I can think of that are the proper offset are OEM AP2's, 6ULR's that are not out yet, or the ASA's (discontinued?) mentioned early on in this thread. And also, as someone else said, RE30's, TE37's and Le37's (IIRC).
The options that were A-stock rears are also available - TRM, OZ Alleggerita. Although not the full allowable 9", they should fit nicely and are a lighter option compared to OEM AP2 rears.

Actually I've done dyno testing on both my AP1 and AP2's on this subject. AP1 air box lid off 0hp gain, removed filter with airbox lid off .5hp gain. AP2 air box lid off lost hp, wasn't much but any hp lost I want to steer clear from

Ahh, again I stand corrected. Definitely another cheaper option than the Volks. It appears that the OZ's are lighter too.

This goes back to another question I had - has anyone felt a difference in grip and/or response with a 255 on a 8.5" wheel vs. a 9"? Is it even noticeable? I'm on 225f/255r Z1SS's right now on my stock AP2 and the only other tire I've had were the aged RE050's that came with the car so I wouldn't know.

Well, I can't tell you exactly what you want to know but I can tell you that a 195 Toyo R1R feels better on a 7.5" rim than it does on a 7" rim. It feels like it improves transitional response and on a tire like the R1R, I'll take all I can get.

Now the question is what will you be running on your S2000 now that the CRX is sold?

I think I am sold on sticking with AS for one more season so I can have a shot at Nationals with it. I just got the setup where I want it so I am hoping to be ready to take on Marc.

I would assume that he is starting with these?

The Toyos have been good to me, I'll admit. We'll see how they stack up on this car that weighs 1000lbs more.
