Hello, i been following this thread some, and been learning a lot about this class.

I'm currently running of shelf koni yellows with gc sleeve on 400 front and rear spring rates. I know both the shocks and springs are to soft.
I also have a saner front sway bar and stock 06 AP2 rear sway.

Im currently running rpf1 17x8 and re-01r 245's all around. will prob switch to 255 tires and 17x9 949 wheels when they come out.

i was wondering what is the best idea for my suspension. Should i stick with the koni's and get stiff springs ? i was thinking 600 front 550 rear.
maybe re-valve this konis ?

or sell it and get kw v3 which a lot of the track guys like for a relative cheap set up?(not club sport)

also, what and were is the best price both either of this options?

thanks

I'm not sure if this came up, so I'm sorry if this is redundant (I searched for "soft" in the last 12 pages of this thread and found nothing)

Can soft tops (glass/plastic) be swapped between years under the comfort and convenience rule?

I want to go the weight-adding route by putting glass on my 01 since I have a ratty top now and still DD my car, and not to the point where I am jockeying for a trophy at Nats yet.

I am also curious if there would be any inclination of the later models swapping in the older plastic roof. I know that's nuts, but it would be pretty easy to swap back later.

I'm of the opinion that you would not be protested for changing the window type and thus adding weight to your car. It's not a performance enhancement at all. That said, if an AP2 had a plastic window, It would be very likely to have paperwork filed against it at a tour.

I would as a competitor, not protest you for "updating" to the glass rear window. It serves absolutely no performance advantage and having owned a MY00 and having done the swap, I can empathize. Now, if somebody with a glass window "backdates" to a plastic window, there is no room for interpretation on that one. It's a clear advantage in weight savings and is against the rules.

I hope it's just comfort and convenience. I bought it with the glass top... I don't believe it's any performance advantage to having the glass top vs the soft top in a car that originally had the plastic window. But I would think that going glass > plastic would be a major issue.

Edit: Good to know there are people that don't mind.

Anyone thinking about picking up an extra set of wheels for co-drivers to run in BSP/SSM?

I was just thinking that sometimes those classes aren't all that competitive unless one of the Evo's or RX7's shows up...

Could be an easy way to cherry pick some Hoosiers - then sell them. Not like thats the most ethical thing to do but it could help fund the crack addiction.

I've got multiple sets of 17" wheels at this point and I think the car would be a hoot on 275/40/17's all the way around

well if there is enough people to actually make a class so you dont have to run in the bump class, one of them is usually an EVO...

Like you'd be on street tires. Yeah.

There's a philly event on Nov 22nd at a new site (Whacovia)... I'm more than likely heading down... Nate too. Bring your street tires and we'll settle this like little children.
