No cooling mods are legal. Radiator cap, thermostat or any coolant rerouting are all illegal.

What about a complete radiator swap? I saw where it allows a different thermostat... But nothing about re-routing hoses.

It would have to be the same as an OEM one. Can't be anything like an aluminum one.

but, what if it's a special CR radiator, with special CR routing, and Special CR negative weight sauce coolant?! Can I do a limited update backdate to CR spec coolant? What about CR Spec tire air?

I just realigned to -2.6F/-2.4*R and will be trying it this weekend at a divisional.
I've done two races in my car. The first event the car was turned from a BS car to an STR car over the span of two evenings a day prior to the event. I didn't have time to realign the car after installing the springs and lowering the perches from stock height. I used toe plates to get the toe to a sane setting. Consequently, I was running -2.2 up front and -3.1 in the back. I thought the car felt fantastic.

For the second race, I got the car aligned. I went with -2.7 up front and -2.4 in the back.

I couldn't feel a difference in the car. :|

Now for the third race, I've changed springs, front sway bar and lowered the car substantially. I don't know what my alignment is now but you can bet that it's more than -2.7 and -2.4. God knows what the toe did. I probably have toe in in the front, which I may fix day after the first day of the SWdiv (see you there stimpy?) and more toe in in the back as well. It's raining here and I plan to get on the road from New Orleans after work tomorrow so I won't have time to get out the toe plates...
Matt,
Hopefully you took the toe plates with you. The result of lowering is usually toe out on both front and rear. This is driven by the tie rods up front if below horizontal when you start lowering. Same goes for the rear toe control arms if they are below horizontal. You may have a very quick turning car on the front and the back probably resulting in a loose back end. Could be a hand full to drive, but who knows you may have discovered something you really like.

The inside of your front tires may be wiped out real quick.

Good Luck.

Well I know for sure that the rear toes in under compression so I think I'll be OK there. I didn't start with much toe in. Now if the front toes out, that's great. I would like to have some toe out to preload the slipangle. I may check the toe in the morning if I get enough sleep.

Thanks!

lol.

Thanks for the clarification, that's what I figured. Now to drain the coolant out of a CR and put it into my car...

No cooling mods are legal. Radiator cap, thermostat or any coolant rerouting are all illegal.

I. Thermostats may be added or substituted. A thermostat is a device
which controls the passage of water.

In the stock engine mods section. first part of st says all stock allowances

I guess I never knew that was legal. Radiators aren't though I know that much.

Although they only come in 245R17/40, has anyone tried Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08s? Any opinions? They are the same diameter as the R-S3s and the width is 0.2 inches narrower according to specs on TireRack web page. A friend has run them on his Evo and liked them a lot other than the cost which is $205 each. He said the side wall is firm and provides great response compared to R-S3s and even Star Specs.

Obviously at $500 per set the R-S3 is be the best value going for the S2000.
