Man that is a huge, wide open course! Last weekend's course we had was super tight.

Miata took the STR class with almost a full second. Speedworksracing (s2k) beat him by a full second but picked up a retarded cone. I was 3 seconds behind them so I have alot of work to do.
Your comment about course size should be taken into account when setting you your car. If all you get to run is tight courses you will need to be ready to make adjustments it your run a national tour or go to Lincoln.

I wish I could be racing right now!

Nice video but wierd camera angles
Yeah those are different camera angles. I usually just shoot from between the seats. I was having fun when a friend handed me his GoPro and was able to run two cameras with suction mounts.

All this talk of running without rear bars got me thinking of Steve Hoeschler (Xhead's) posts on mr2oc. He thinks that you should run no bars on any cars that are in classes with open springs.....He has kinda been kicking butt in dsp for years, won that nats in 2010 again......Not a bad read imo...here are some links....

Any one tried running a setup close to his sugestions on here?
Steve won DP, no DSP. I have been running my FP car with no bars since the first event after Nationals. I'm a fan, but I'm also running far lower spring rates than his math would suggest.

Just wanted to share that The ball-bearing mounts for the gendon bar went up another $25. so they are now $285 shipped. FML Atleast the GF paid for them

.... I'll leave out that part about having to get her a coach purse and coach shoes in exchange. HaHa.

This past week end I found that adding some rear compression also helped with mid/late corner push in slow/fast corners/sweepers. I was running with the rear bar disconnected for most runs. Attaching the rear bar (MX-5 ~125 lb/in) made a nice difference which on first run first corner caused over steer. Adjusted driving after that and it had decent balance for high and low speed. You can see a bit of push in high speed (~55 MPH) turn at 25 sec in the video, rear bar attached.

740R
Comptech front bar on full stiff (~900 lb/in)
MX-5 rear bar (~125 lb/in)
Killa video!! Nicely done!!!

Glad to see the that MX5 Front bar in the back is working for you.

Seeing courses like this and being able to play in January really makes me envious of you guys. I have not even started my S2000 in over a month, and when I get to play... I'll be lucky to be in the powerband in 2nd.. briefly. :-(

opps...sorry about the dsp, your right....may I ask what spring rates your running. I know the mr2 and x19 cars have to be super stiff because of the "wonderful" camber curves of the mcstrut suspensions. Running lower spring rates would make sence.

It is actually one of the reasons I applied to a few Arizona schools for law school. I want to pass the bar and live somewhere where I can do motorsport year round. It also did not hurt that the schools were well regarded as well.

Living in Texas has spoiled me, it is nice having no snow covered winter months in the south.

So the front MX-5 bar fits the S2000 in the rear? What Model Year/s MX-5?
2006 in my case. Here, I wrote it up with photos.
