The AD08 comes in 255/40/17 unless they recently discontinued it. I have been very tempted by those since they are much better in the rain than rs3s, and also yokohama has contingency. Haven't tried them yet though.

They're a good tire. They are best shaved. Really popular in the STX crowd for the wrx. Just pricey.

The one thing I haven't heard much about is how they deal with heat compared to some of the other tires like the dunlop and hankooks. do they need as much heat as the hankooks to start working? Can they handle heat or are they more like dunlops in that regard?

Like the Dunlops, I can't recommend them shaved. Their compound does the same blistering as the Dunlop once you reach the wear bars. I liked them on the WRX and the STI unshaved. Their heat tolerance is worse than the Dunlop and their cost is horrible. I haven't bothered with them on the S2000.

What is this blistering? Does it do that only shaved or unshaved as well?

It's a separation of differing compounds. When the top compound wears away, the second compound starts to peak through. It's not uncommon.

Yea the delimitation happened to my last set of star specs. Seems like you had the new car working well at the SWdiv Glagola. I wish I could have made it down as well.

Yeah man, she's so much better behaved than my AP2 was. Love it. Who are you, 762?

My name is Greg Laver, just a Fort Worth local and friend of David Whitener, as well as others, who have been helping me get faster. I missed the early Texas tours this year from just not having everything on the car in time, and unfortunately just had conflicts that kept me from making it down for the last div.

A friend has run them on his Evo and liked them a lot other than the cost which is $205 each. He said the side wall is firm and provides great response compared to R-S3s and even Star Specs.

Obviously at $500 per set the R-S3 is be the best value going for the S2000.
A friend in a z3 ran these. also did them in back to back days at a divisional. He thinks the ad08 are much better in rain. RS-3 has more total grip and deal with the hot days better. buuuut that is all based on feel. nothing to back it up.

I actually hit 169deg on the RS-3's on my friends BMW and boy they started to change eek. Will not let them get this hot on the s2k.
