Any down side to using key-less lock/unlock

Nobody has brought up the (unlikely?) possibility of someone stealing codes to later get into your car? Don't know how much of a problem this is with the stock remote opposed to a more advanced system that constantly changes the code between the remote and base unit...

This may sound wierd, but my neighbor has a Land Rover and keeps his key in the ignition all the time and uses the keyless entry to lock and unlock the doors but never carries the key around. . .
I've asked him that if someone ever broke into his Rover, they could easily drive it away because they have the key but he never seemed troubled!

As far as the keyless entry thing...its ironic; this very afternoon I was walking towards my car in the parking lot -- once again just pressin' the button to see just how far away I can be and still make the purdy lights blink!
-- when it hit me, "What happens when my battery for this lil' bugger dies and I wanna get into my car???
"So, do you think I use my remote too much??? I mean, I completely forgot that I actually keep a key *ON* the keyring and that that key actually works for the door and the trunk (as well as in the ignition). Jeez, I'm hopeless!
Hmm, I only see positives to using the remote. I have the Honda alarm and it activates at the same time as i lock the doors remotely. The remote locks both doors (I like that). I don't like having to press twice to open passenger side. Avoids scratches as others said here. Easy to do in the dark, even wearing gloves.
heres a good useless tip for the remotes,
when your really far away and for some unknown reason feel the urge to unlock your doors from across the parking lot place the remote near your neck and press unlock. for some reason the human body increases the distance of the remote and allows the s2000 to unlock from quite a distance. this works for most remotes, cell phones etc. anything that uses a frequency will work with this.
well yeah useless tip but interestingly enough it works, my friend told me about it and every now and then ill do it to amaze myself for the day
god, im pathetic............
