"Title issued or updated
Loan or lien reported
A Not Actual Mileage title
was issued to this vehicle
in error and later corrected"

Whats this mean. They thought the mileage was not the same as it showed on the tach? Then found out it was?

This car blue books at around $9,235. But that not the appalling part. What blows me away is that they are asking that much for this car and the supercharger and rims are OPTIONAL extras... as in they want more on top of the asking price for them or they will be removed.

IF they could be brow beaten down to what the car is really worth, do you think the mileage is to high to even bother on this one???

For me it would depend on how long the supercharger has been on it. The SC is going to really tax the clutch, differential, engine, and maybe even transmission. Also, what are they doing to do about the wheels? I assume they wouldn't deliver the car on cinderblocks. It's kind of stupid how they are making such basic essentials options.

IMO, the price they're asking would be a decent price with all of the installed options. Without the supercharger and wheels, it's robbery.

that being the case, what range of mileage would you figure acceptable for the car to have had the supercharger installed on?

Cause that was something I didn't think of... just how long the car has been boosted

Even with the mods wouldn't a lower price than 12 be more acceptable?

Honestly, I wouldn't buy a car that had a supercharger or turbo on it AND then was removed.

Either buy it with all the goodies and hope that the install was done right and reap the benefits of SC or turbo, or move on and look for a car that is clean and that has not been abused with such engine mods.

There are plenty out there, for cheap.

Someone with more knowledge about SC's should step in and tell you, but there's also the forced induction forum.

I actually saw this same car up for sale on craigslist in LA a week prior to it being listed at this small dealership and listed in the description was the fact that the supercharger had been installed by Honda techs.

How it ended up there I have no idea, probably saw something on that lot he fancied and traded for it. But still even if the install was done correctly would a comptech supercharger damage the life of the engine so much as to make a car with this many miles simply not worth it???

I am so incredibly tempted cause the car is my dream color combo, and the rims are great too...

I would be a bit weary of any non-OEM boosted car with 135k miles. That said some guys with boosted S2000s have been running 5-7 years with minimum problems. I don't know what kind of mileage they rack up, but it's something to consider. The Comptech kit has been known to be friendly to the engine relative to other more extreme kits. Maybe the car has been driven like a grandma, maybe it's been driven by a maniac. There are really too many variables to guess at the condition of the car's mechanicals.

If the car checks out to be in good shape, I would say about $12k would be a good price. Remember those wheels are probably worth $2000 by themselves.

I can't tell if you want the SC on it or not.

If you want a mint GPW with tan seats, they are hard to find, but let me divulge my experience:

Last week a 2003 GPW w/ tan seats sold for $12-13k at a norcal dealer. Clean condition, one owner, 40k miles.

I was going to let them simmer for one more week, but I guess I blew it. It was on their lot for 3 months and someone came in during a rain storm and bought it. Oh well.

If you want an s, you can find one in good condition with low miles for cheap if you are patient.
135k miles on a STOCK MY2000 for $13k is rubbish. Why are you even considering this?
