Just paid $10.9k for MY05 with absolutely no problems. 100k miles tho.. But the way I see it, this engine is gonna last me at least another 100k easy before I sell it in a couple years. That's one way you could save on an AP2 if your not planning on having it for a long time. Just find one with slightly higher miles.

Central Indiana--what area? I got an '06 with the same miles as this listing for $3k less private party in Noblesville, but then again I check each week for listings around here too and they are uncommon. For a dealership the price isn't too bad but you may try getting them down a bit. Values have gone up since I bought in 2010.

Hi Syn,
I'm 50 miles east of Indy in New Castle. I went through a pretty intense search about five years ago and the market was much more plentiful then but prices were too high for me at the time with a daughter starting college. Thought I had a line on a 2004 about this time last year at a dealer south of Indy, but could not get them to return emails (had an online price "special" they said). I backed away from the search for a while, but have gotten the itch again. You are right though, even checking Autotrader multiple times a week turns up very few choices, dealer of private.

I recently found a 2000 S2k with 37k miles on the clock.

It has a few rips in the top and clutch buzz...

It has a clean title but shows 1 accident on the carfax. The seller has paper work from the honda dealer that did the repairs and the car looks great.

He is asking 11k

Is that price fair? I'm planning on driving a fair distance to pick it up.

Thats an insanely low price for only 37k mileage! Clutch buzz isnt a big issue, I would make sure that there is no structural or frame damage, it could have just been a fender bender but you can never be too cautious!

How would i check for frame damage?

Wouldn't the insurance company look for that during the repair?

found a 2003 Spa Yellow with 38K miles and a blown engine for $7K. No frame damage, absolutely immaculate underbody, no modifications, interior in perfect shape, paint in perfect condition. I really can't think of why this would be a bad buy. can you?

Im looking to buy my first S2000 as a entrance to the Japanese car world. Ive been a BMW owner for a long time, but Ive been having this strong urge to buy a S2000 for some time now.

So Im currently looking at a 2005 S2000 with 65k miles, asking price is $18.9k. The car looks stock from pictures, clean title and its a 3 owner vehicle. I tried running a kelly blue book price, but its a dealer car and the estimate is around $19k. The car looks clean from the pictures, but I doubt the car is in "Excellent" condition that kkb insists dealer sold cars are. I did read the "read before buy" thread, but noticed it just mentioned all general points to remember when buying a car. Assuming this car is mechanically flawless at the moment, how much is it really worth?
How would this car compare to a flawless 2003 AP1 with 20k miles for about the same price?

Im also planning on trading in my 2004 M3 with 110k miles on it as a trade in. Its high mileage, but I kept it in pristine condition.

I don't know how much it's exactly worth, but I can tell you I wouldn't pay $19k for it. I mean, it IS a 7 year old car. My 07 was bought considerably cheaper from the dealer, although it has a bit more miles than 65k. The trade-in value of that car is only worth approximately $14.5-15k. I'd be comfortable paying ~$16.5 for it.

I don't care how nice the 03 AP1 is.. paying 19 grand is highway robbery when the car is about 10 years old. Yes it does have low mileage, but mileage shouldn't be a huge factor if the previous owner actually took care of the car.

I wouldn't pay over 17K for that personally.
