The warranty remainder might well be worth the $4k price tag difference - not necessarily for the powertrain but for the bumper to bumper (especially the softtop). Both seem like decent deals (a 2006 with 8k miles might retail for $25k based on KBB). Honestly, go for the one that pulls you in!!

KBB says $13,500 for suggested retail (in great condition)

Yea I was thinking about the soft top. I had an 08 (sold) and the soft top tore due to the latch and was replaced under warranty. That possibility worries me about the 06.

both are priced well...i would pick 2009 if money was not a problem, but 2006 is a pretty good deal too and you save $4k

This might be a biased opinion but I just picked up a 2008 GPW for 29k, I would go with the newer car because of the updates (or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better for over paying

BOTH DEALS SEEM ABOUT EQUAL. go with the red since this will make living with the car much easier and you save 4 grand. updates are nice but something you'll soon forget about and hardly a deal breaker.

Suspension is the same in both those years

Revised suspension:
2003 vs. 2004 models
also CR compared to any 2004+

I would probably go for red.

as far as I know suspension was revised 3 times. 2006 and 2007+ (or 2008) have slightly different suspension.

but after 2006 there were only minimal changes to the car (thats why i bought 2006 myself)
