well they have similar problems with the titles... yet most salvaged cars are complete and have been repaired. most people have the out of sight out of mind approach where if they see a car finished, even if it was wrecked they dont think about the wreck.

plus s2000 parts are not cheap to replace!

What do you guys think of this deal: http://www.acurabymcgrath.com/used/Honda/2...e7589ef2895.htm

It would be my first s2000, and it would be an out of state purchase so I'm kind of nervous about it. I spoke to the dealership and they say it is in immaculate condition, bought from an old woman who rarely drove it, etc. If it's true and I don't get it I hope someone else on here does.

Seems like a great price for an 06 with those miles. If you are traveling more than a couple hours to buy, before you go to see it I would recommend:

1. Carfax/Autocheck
2. Have the dealer send you pics of the VIN sitckers on the body panels (7 IIRC)
3. Have an independent mechanic or local S2ker check it out in person.

I would definitely have them run it over to a nearby Honda for inspection before I purchase - I do this with every car. Costs about $50, don't know why anyone wouldn't.

Anyone in Chicago want to help me out?

Too much for a rebuilt title. Get the KBB low price and divide by 2.

I assume you name is Bart. I purchased the 06 at McGrath last night. I looked at it the night before ane picked it up yesterday. the car was listed at almost 19k. I had looked at a private sale car and the owner decided to keep it, so when I saw the price drop I jumped. Not sure if the 08 appealed to you, but they would deal on it.
If you call, talk to Jerry...stay away from Shawn!

Hey imarcr2,

I appreciate the update and congrats on the car purchase! I'm in CA, so it was unlikely that things would have worked out for me anyways. Let us know how you like it!

I'm still on the hunt and black and white are my preferences anyways. Congrats again!
