Here's of the bads I could find on this car

-middle plastic parts on the front bumper fell off while it was parked (claimed kids accident knocked it out) he has the part just needs to put it back on.

-the KBB on his ad is listed too high for a car that;s only 40k miles. (Does not add up)
-car has a lot of mileage driven only for 2yrs and 4months.
-two rims have curb marks, but are minor.
-Claims he paid the reg. sticker for 400$. (sounds kinda high)
-the car is not fully paid off. he has 2k left on payment, but will pay it off and have title on his hand before he sells it to me but i would need to put a 500$ deposit down by Monday 12/07/2009
-Also claims he bought each BF Goodrich tires for 320$ (I will call firestone tomorrow and get quote on the tires) I think he bought warranty on each tires, but price is still high.

heres the tire price i found on the internet

Im still waiting on the Vin# from him i want to check carfax myself. Anyone have a carfax account and would help run the vin for me. Will paypal 5-10$

I also want to get the story straight on how the middle plastic part on the front bumper fell off. I have a feeling the bumper has been repainted and there's something hes not telling me.

What do you guys think? I want your opinion on this car.

Is it worth paying 20,500$?
What would you pay?
Is it the color combo you want? That would be worth paying slightly over KBB to me.

A lot of the CONs you listed just seem like nitpicking details, registration IS probably $400 b/c I paid almost that for mine. BUT, you're probably going to have to re-register it and get your own tag once you buy it.

The fact that he has high mileage isn't a big deal...unless you want a perfectly mint low mile one. It just means his car was a daily driver.

The title situation sounds legit and the tires thing....I mean he may have over-quoted you on the tires....but whats the big deal...its not like he's making you pay for the tires.

If the car checks out and you like it, is it really worth the hassle of waiting a few more moths to come across another one?

Just check for VINs on each bumper if you're concerned about repaints, if there is clear-coat covering the sticker then its been re-sprayed. Then again, bumper resprays are pretty common, I'm probably going to have my front bumper done due to rock chips. The "middle parts" you're referring to are bumper plugs, they are used for states that require a front license plate.

Just keep in mind that $20k for an 07 probably isn't going to land you a mint condition one.

I would deffinately get the VIN and run the carfax yourself. He seems sort of guarded about that, even whites it out of the carfax he posted.

It is also missing the side emblems, which could just mean he decided to remove them, or it could mean it was in an accident and never reinstalled after it was painted.

Other than that, some of the things you posted were sort of minor. The price with that mileage is ok, I paid that much for my 06 last year with 19K miles on it. But if there are not to many GPW AP2s around and you want one you are sort of stuck paying what the seller wants.

That's a lot of miles IMO lol, bought an '04 with 37k in dec, but up to 42.7k.
Anyways, get on the ground, look for curb rash on the bottom.
Hey I have a question too. If you look at the pics you see that blue oil filter. In my experience, I got a blue one too, when I went to do an oil change I took it off and was like wtf is this? It was huge, about 1.3x the size of an oil filter autozone sold me, and it was generic with no name brand on it. Anyways shouldn't really matter just curious and found it strange the dealership would put a pointlessly large oil filter on.

The blue filter on that car looks like the honda OEM filter.

the condition of the car seems pretty good. the paint is just perfect. i dont see any chip. no scratch on the wheels, and interior seems all good.

my only worry is the injen cold air intake. even socal doesn't rain more than 10-15 times every year. i dont know how long it has been there. if it sucks any water into the engine, will the water just stay in it? does the compression test help?

I would not worry about the CAI, it is not like the car was boosted or anything. If it was hydro-locked it would be apparent in the way the car would/would not run. The car looks really clean and like it was well take care of. It is missing the plastic cover that goes between the front of the radiator and the engine bay, likely removed due to the CAI.

That looks like a pretty nice deal. A Cold Air Intake is not a 'bad' mod to have if your looking for reliability and longevity. If the car had been turboed, or NOSed then I would definitely hesitate unless your into racing or looking for more performance. But THAT particular car with the low miles, 1 owner and low mileage (I bought MY S2000 with 80,000 miles on it, it ran like a clock the entire time I owned it and I sold it for MORE then I owed at the time so 27K seems 'low' to me), I would buy it if I were you. They are simply awesome cars to own and drive and you will not be disappointed. I would check out those fender stickers though as well and find out if it has been in a collision, if it HAS then I would pass. There are plenty of clean low mileage S's all over the place these days.

I would still look into why there are no vin stickers. Here is a pic of where they should be:

You can see the two yellow boxes. There should be a sticker on the front bumper and on the fenders. I don't see one on the fender on the car you are showing. You should see if the bumper has one too. Just because carfax says there wasn't an accident doesn't mean there wasn't one. Also the paint being completely perfect after 26K miles could mean it has been repainted up front.
