-Official- Is this car worth it thread
It's not too old, but make sure you understand the changes in 02. If you don't really wnat the hardtop you could probably find a high miles 02 at that price.
The comment "this car has NEVER been in serious crashes" is suspect. Check for vin stickers on all the body panels. Body work doesn't have to be a deal breaker on a 100k car, but you'll want to know what you're getting into.

For me it was. Check the FAQs in S2000 Talk for the details.

^ If all else is equal I'd pay $1800 extra for a 2002. Be careful with that one, the rear exhaust surround (maybe the whole bumper?) has been painted. It's odd that the front emblem is missing. The brake fluid looks like syrup.

Also, I could swear KBB thinks a 2002 with 10k miles is worth ~$12k. I'm sure there is a seller out there that agrees.

k. thanks for the help. I called him and asked about the front emblem and he said he thinks it got stolen....kind of suspicous? But yeah Im going to go and check it out on saturday and if it looks good ill get it inspected at a honda dealership to be on the safe side.
What do you price gurus think of this one?:
2004 Spa Yellow
45,XXX miles
All stock
Taken from for sale ad:
"Purchased Certified Used from dealership at 24k mi in 2008. Serviced regularly with records. Mechanically and cosmetically in excellent condition. Less than 46,000 miles. New high performance racing tires. Soft top with tonneau cover. Must see. Am leaving the country, otherwise would not part with it."
Owner:
Second and current owner is a female.
She is just out of college and owned the car for a year and half during college.
I'm assuming a lot of the mileage came from commuting to UC Davis from the East Bay.
Followed maintenance schedule. Maintained at Dublin Honda.
Condition:
Car is in pretty nice shape.
All exterior plastic trim is nice and black.
A scratch about 3" long on the passenger door.
A few love tap license plate bolt marks on the rear bumper.
Underside is super clean.
Front bumper is the only problem: Has some road rash/pitting on one side. Looks likes she either hit the curb or cement block while parking, or pulling straight out of a dipped lot. The bumper has some spider web paint cracks near the side air vent on the passenger's side where the plastic flexed, and the black plastic grill is popped out.
No other paint chips besides the pitting on the front bumper.
Driver's side taillight has a seal leak. Looks like some water got inside and dried out.
Interior is clean.
Passenger seat has minimal wear, though the side bolster on the driver's side is pretty worn down.
Soft top is super clean.
Car has brand new Toyo Proxes T1R tires.
Brake pads need to be replaced soon.
Price:
She won't take under 15.7k
Think this car is worth it?
I haven't seen many "low" mileage, all stock, non raced, 04+ spa yellows for sale in the Bay.
