Just get it checked out by a good mechanic. Our cars are made to last. We've seen many over the 200K and some up in the 300 club.

Yeah if he is the only owner and has a good history record then that's a steal for it. If it has had 15 owners and should signs of severe abuse then run away. Its worth looking at. Do a carfaqs as that should tell you some decent starting info.

That's a decent price. I know you have your mind set on a 06+ but for 13.5k you can get a pretty good 04-05 AP2 with less than 100k

That's a high mile unit, averaging 24,500 miles per year. I assume you're in a sunbelt state and the person used it as a VERY daily driver on the highway. Check for lots of stone chips on the front, windshield pitting / cracks, damage underneath, and wheel damage from potholes. Be sure you have a full & regular service history. I would only consider it if it was a one-owner car that was driven lots of careful miles. If you don't know the ownership / service history, I would pass quickly.

Alright. So long story short, Ive beeen looking for the past few months for an s2k, in my price range. Well my price range is around 6k, which limits me to salvage s2k's (which I dont mind)
Im also seeing rhd itr clones for around 6k, and it kinda got me thinking. Any help on this would help. Consider these things,
Looks, Price, Insurance, Street cred, size, (im about 6 foot)
Which ever i choose, ill be getting the other in the future when the funds are right. But I can obviously only choose one.

Been lurking for awhile but now it's time for my first post Been looking at 02-03 AP1s around the DC area and test drove this today:

http://annapolis.craigslist.org/cto/3812012878.html

I spent a full hour with the car and the owner, mileage is moderate (I don't mind higher miles), bodywork is remarkable well kept, things look pretty clean under the hood. It has a few minor repaired rips in the top, he doesn't have the soft top cover, and the manual is awfully notchy, though that's likely because the car was stone cold and maybe the gearbox oil needs a change. Carfax turned up a front-end accident (hit a parked car).

14.5 seems a touch high, I'm thinking 12.5 or 13 would be reasonable to pitch. Thought?

for starters that it has a clean title and all vin numbers match hood, trunk, doors, fenders. and a compression test to make sure you have a healthy motor.
