Yeah i didn't see the hardtop. I still wouldn't pay 17,500 for it though.

Yeah, you're not the market though.

For $17.5K, with hardtop, condition and low miles (6k/year) this is a good buy.

Thoughts?

Car is worth around 14 without the HT if its never been hit and the soft top is in good condition. The hardtop can easily be flipped for at least 3k. Seller is a little high but not that much.

Its a dealer and they do tend to price the S high. I am sure they have some wiggle room. If you can get them to sell it for $17k or less you are getting a good deal assuming everything checks out.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, and I had a couple of listings that i saw for s2ks that I'm interested in. I just wanted some insight on what you guys think about these ads.

Also, it seems to me that s2ks in the states are much cheaper than ones up here in Canada, how would I go about importing one from the states, or even purchasing one?

Thanks in advance.

I like the 07! As far as import laws in Canada are concerned, you should check with the regional forums, Im sure they would be a great source of info.

The car has an accident, so I'd try to get more details on what happened. I'd check all the body panels to see what was potentially replaced. If no panels were replaced, I'd probably ignore the accident assuming everything else looks good.

Also, the car hasn't been sold in a year. The last owner put an average of 700 miles for 4 years?!

Frankly, I think you can find a better car for that amount of money. That said, I'm a bit picky on my cars - I look for no accidents, no mods, few owners ...

I've been lurking awhile and love seeing everyone's enthusiasm and ownership stories of this amazing sports car we all love.

I'm in a position to purchase my first s2k within the next couple of days. I've found three good examples, all seem to be in good condition with same mileage, and would like some insight from more knowledgeable owners.

2003 Sebring Silver/ black

2001 SSM/ black

2000 SSM/ red

I really like the SSM/ red combo, but the owner has failed to contact me back. I've gotten in touch with both the other two.I know it's hard to go wrong here but, now I'm in a position where I can go with the newer MY03, or the more desirable (imo) SSM MY01. OR sit around and wait and see if the owner of the SSM/ red ever contacts me back.. which may be unlikely.

I'm wondering if the MY03 would be a better buy since its 2 years newer for the same price and mileage, compared to the 01. Can anyone help me and let me know what they would do in this situation?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: bad news, just found out the 03 was sold yesterday...

Hopefully you've read this:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/775...-a-used-s2000/

Then it comes down to choosing which one you like best after driving all of them a few times. Some little model year changes probably won't make as much difference as the color combination that you like. The good news is that all years of the S2000 great even though they have their advantages/disadvantages.
