Hey guys, I've been thinking of getting an s2k for a while now and I have finally decided to pull the trigger on one. I've seen this one everyday, for the passed few months and finally decided to stop by and look at it. I took it for a test drive and immediately fell in love. Now, the only thing that really concerns me is that the widebody is molded on and pretty much none removable. Based on the parts list, i think the price is fairly reasonable. I talked to the guy and I could possibly get it down to $17.5 or a tad bit lower.

What do you guys think?

Just wanting to see what my car's worth.

2002 Sebring Silver S2000
Clean title, clean carfax
133,xxx miles on ODO
58,xxx on F22c engine
Less than 2,000 miles on ACT HD Pressure Plate, ACT Prolite Flywheel, Stock clutch disc and bearings
Newer top, no leaks
Car has been repainted at some point
CR Wheels

What do you guys think? I don't know how much the newer engine swap affect the value.
Here's the KBB:
Excellent - $10,949
Very Good - $10,499
Good - $10,199
Fair - $8,974

I would never buy an AP1 with an AP2 engine. Just like I wouldn't buy an AP2 with an AP1 engine. That's me and I am sure a lot of the population when it comes time for you to resell it. I assume you have all the documentation on the engine replacement and mileage on it. I would base my price on the chassis mileage.
I would value that car at $8,000.

Thank you for the response. What made you decide that the value of this car is well under "fair" condition of the bluebook?

While it looks pretty nice, and I might have looked at it if you were selling and in my area, a replacement engine and repaint aren't really positives for a car like an S. It now falls into the world of "it's worth whatever somebody will pay". For me, I'd only be comfortable at a lowball number.

Best guess at fair price for a 2009, stock, perfect condition, under 10k miles, any color? I am shopping around for one like this and looking at all sites, want your input. Thanks.

Based on what I've seen really low mileage 07s and 08s listed for, I would think it would take 28 to get something like that.

This is exactly where I am coming from. The S2000 is a rare car. With values of '04 and '05 down it comes to what type of S the buyer wants. They either want the AP2 2.2 or AP1 2.0. Not a AP2 wannabe. Five years ago when all year AP2 prices were high this would have been more desirable.
Best of luck!

Was wondering if the this ad looked a little sketchy or if it could be a diamond in the rough?

http://www.gmotorcars.com/inventory/...ton+Heights+IL

I havent been able to check anything out physically but from the pictures all I can see is a dent by the gas door and possibly another small dent on the back of the trunk to the left of the badge.

Otherwise this car looks amazing for the price and milage!

Let me know your thoughts!
