Looking for a Suzuka blue with the all blue interior, so that keeps me under a 2006 (I believe thats when they went to some black in the interior) Though I like the idea of the flash pro for the 06+. I realize that both AP1 and AP2 have their merits, so it really doesn't make much of a difference, I might be a little partial to the AP1 for the 9k, but the AP2 has some updates that I like. My primary requirement is low miles, like under 25k. Only hitch is that I live in South Florida, and all of the cars that I've found are a few hours flight away, which I don't have a problem with when purchasing, but unfortunately I can't fly around to test drive each one. Anyway, I've found a 2003 Suzuka, all blue, with 6500 miles, second owner, pretty much mint, hes asking 19,500 but says he won't go less than $18,500. NADA puts this thing around $15,500, and Edmunds even lower, and thats including the 6500 miles. I'm also looking at a 2005 with ~23k miles, hes asking $18,800. And another, its a 2004 with a hard top, and 31k miles, asking $25,000 (says negotiable).

Any and all thoughts and opinions welcome, Thanks in advance.
I just purchased a 2002 S2000 Suzuka blue with blue interior with the OEM hardtop, front/rear spoilers and side strakes. It only has 44K miles and is in super good condition. I paid $15K and consider it a very good buy. I can tell you that it's VERY hard to find an S2000 at NADA, Edmunds or even Clearbook values. I personally wanted an AP1 because I think it's the purest of the S2000's.

To find an AP1 with less than 25k you are going to paying a major premium and you might as well forget about book values. Here is one in South Florida with super low mileage (< 12K miles). However, it's Silver with Black interior (which I personally really like). Buy, that one and we can trade.

I'm new around here but I think that should be in the "classifieds" section. This thread is for people asking for advice on if a particular S2K is worth buying.

There is a black 04 s2k local to me with 40k on it. Asking price is around 20 and I have him at 19. About what the KBB price is. However it does have some goodies.
OEM hardtop + stand + car cover
T1R-EM70 exhaust
Password JDM Carbon/Kevlar intake ($1,000 one)
password jdm carbon/Kevlar cooling plate
About 1grand in decent wheels.

Also comes with the OEM wheels/intake/exhaust. Think it is worth 19k? In theory it is great mechanically and exterior wise.

I haven't kept up with KBB prices on the S2k, but was that price WITHOUT the hard top? That was an approx $5k option, and I know that the stands were around $600 or more (sorry, I bought in 2003-I can't remember specifics).

If so, that IS a pretty good price for a well-maintained S2k. You can't get those options anymore-they've been discontinued by Honda.

He could sell the OEM hardtop for about $3000 on here. The other mods aren't OEM so it's up to you if it adds value to the car.

Also , s2000 prices are definitely higher than they were 2 years ago. I bought a 2004 with 30k on it in 2010 for $17k and that was the best deal I could find. It sounds like a pretty decent price to me.

Yes that KBB price is without the top. He also has the OEM wheels/exhaust/intake so the mods are just a bonus that I won't have to spend any additional money on myself, same with the top.

I bought my '04 with 36k miles and 18" work wheels for $15500 2 yrs ago. No hardtop and everything else was stock, although it does have the headrest speaker option

Decent price IMO since prices have gone back up, it's summer time, kbb prices have gone up a bit, it has a hardtop and wheels and an intake. I paid 15k back in Dec '08 for an '04 stock with 36.6k. Without the hardtop (which are a high demand item for the oem) it would be worth less.

I would say it's a pretty fair price considering it comes with the hardtop and what sound like some decent bolt on upgrades. If it can be brought back to stock all the better if you decide you don't like the mods you can part them out.
