-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
Hi everyone. I've been looking for an S2000 for about a year now. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about the mechanics of cars. I know that I like MT, RWD, convertible, high-revving, naturally aspirated engines, as well as the shape of the S2000 so that's why I'm incredibly interested in owning one. But I'm helpless when it comes to determining the value or condition of one (aside from super obvious things).
I've found a silver 2006, with ~47,000 miles on it. It's at a dealership and the asking price is $22,991. It's had two owners. I have a 05 Civic with nearly 60,000 miles on it and it drives the exact same as the day it rolled off the lot brand new. If this S2000 was maintained well is it reasonable to expect the same out of it? At 47k miles do you think the engine will be as amazing in the high RPMs as when it was newer?
Beyond that, do you think $22,991 is a fair price, or how much lower would a reasonable offer be?

Any input is greatly appreciated,
Thanks!

I'm looking at a 2007 S2000 with 30,000 miles listed at $22,000 from a dealership.
There's also a 2006 S2000 with 25,000 miles for sale from a private party for $20,500.
Are these good prices, what should I offer?

I think both are a steal, given that they are in good shape.
Stock 2006 Silver with 57400 miles listed at dealership for $18,400. The interior doesn't look to be in the best shape especially the leather otherwise it looks to be in good condition. Please what are your thoughts on what I should offer?
Thanks
Thanks

That one isn't worth it in my opinion. it's going to cost you almost 25000 after taxes...
I would skip the dealership if you can... find the right car from the right private party and you can save yourself a few thousand dollars on a great car.
Check them both out!
If you can't find anything differentiating them....pick which one you like better...if you can't do that. Flip a coin and buy one!
Skip it if the leather is in bad shape... you don't want to mess around with fixing it and its bad for resell value.
I paid significantly less than that for an Immaculate 2002 with 55,000 miles... to be honest... the AP1 is a better bang for the buck, and I prefer it overall.
What you guys think about this s2k? Os it a good deal?http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4154357317.html me and my brother are both looking for s2000 and we cant seem to find good deals. This guy does have the receipt for the head job, valve adjustment and has the Smog check also showed me pics of tje old head.whats your guys opinion?
I need your inputs on a 2006 with 31,500 miles that has an accident recorded on the carfax but a clean title, minor to moderate damage to the front and rear from sliding into a curb. Otherwise the car looks to be in great condition. They want $21,500 for it. Should I skip this one altogether due to the accident?
Thanks.
Thanks.
