-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
What do you think of this s2000?
this s2000
I have read the horror stories of this dealership, and they scare me. In the pictures the car looks very nice, it has a carfax: 3 owners, no accidents, +48000 miles.
The worst part is that I am located in Texas, so I cannot count on it being in good condition when i arrive.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks, I posted in the SoCal Owner forum. They are saying the same about the dealer. Very shady. I "looks" to be a very nice car however.
Hello everyone. I found a 05 white with tan interior s2k with 44k miles. Bone stock. Clean title. All the vin tags are there. Front and rear bumpers have some scratches and the driver door has three minor dings. Other than that the car seem to be in great condition. Price is $19.5. Do you guys think that is a good deal or too much? Thanks for the advice.
Ok, I really need help on making a reasonable offer on this car. Quick specs:
2001 S2k - 99k miles
Immaculate Condition
Custom Pearl Yellow paint job
The car is turbocharged with very high quality parts (445 whp currently). RSG carbon hardtop, seibon CF hood, Bilstein coilovers. It's a very nice build capable of ~550 whp with more boost.
The guy is asking 20k. Previous experience selling my 07 Civic SI with 440 whp has told me that aftermarket parts really don't add much value to your ride (I sold my SI with ~15k in aftermarket parts for a mere 1k above trade-in of a stock SI). A regular 01 S2k in this area would go for ~11k. Any suggestions?

So I've been on the hunt for an s2k for a few months now. I've found a pretty clean, stock, blue s2000 for 80k miles asking price of 11.8k.
So far everything looked pretty good. Car looks flawless etc. Then I looked up the carfax. It's had 6 owners and Owner 2 wrecked the car into a guardrail. It says
"Accident reported
involving right side impact
it hit a guardrail
vehicle functional
airbags did not deploy"
"Parts requested for repair
structural damage reported****
front crossmember/cradle
carfax recommends checking these repairs during your pre-purchase inspection."
So my question is should I stay away from this car? The whole structural damage thing is slightly concerning to me as I don't want to buy a car to find out the frame is bent or something
Any advice is appreciated.

Please ask yourself what you want at the end of the day.
Are you interested in learning how poorly this thing may have been put back together?
Or...
Do you want a car to drive? Buy one if that's the case.
Stay away from it. 100000 something S2000's were made. Go find a nice one.

I own a salvage title s2k that "looked" nice at first glance. Luckily I ended up with a solid motor, because the rest of the car was picked through and haphazardly put back together. Ive spent upwards of 2 years trying to replace all the missing clips, bolts, fasteners, interior pieces...the list goes on. If I had to do it again, I would've just saved an extra 5-6k and got a one owner unmolested.
I'd stay farrrr away from that one man.
Unless you just want a track car...that's a different story, but with the frame damage I wouldn't trust it.
