Is this worth it? My dad is worried about high mileage, but I know how reliable these cars can be if maintained properly. What sort of routine costs am I in for? Btw, the car is for me. It'll be my first manual transmission or RWD car...so I'm very excited and worried that that excitement is making me hasty in my decision making. Please bring me down to earth if this isn't a good buy!
Would like to see carfax and under the hood. If all checks out I'd say it's worth $11k easy.

Thanks! Do you know what kind of maintenance costs I'm looking at? I know it can be very different depending on the car but if I could have a ballpark estimate, it might help in the negotiations. I'm sure some things will HAVE to be done to the car as it's got 82k miles, so I wonder how much that will cost me.

82k miles is not high mileage on modern cars. Cars are built to go easily twice that. There are plenty of s2k's over 200k miles in case you haven't seen any.

If you have never owned a manual transmission/RWD car then I suggest you buy something else.

Don't know if I would say that. I grew up when most of us learned to drive on manual cars (and everyone at least knew how to drive one), and the only FWD cars we heard of were some weirdo giant Cadillac Eldorados and '68 Buick Rivieras. Drive intelligently and it's all good.

PS - ya I'm old.

MY2001, glass soft top, red interior, silverstone, 27k miles $15k

Is it worth it? Or just get a higher mileage AP2?

Thanks for your reply. I've driven a manual before, I can start on hills and such, but I'm definitely NOT experienced. I still stall now and then and it's not second nature. Would you still suggest another car? And did you mean a lower mileage S2000 or another car altogether?

I'm looking to purchase my first S2000, and found a 2005 NFR S2000 in VA with an asking price of $15,500 on this forum.
It currently has 74,800 miles. What do you guys think?

See my reply on the previous page. But trust me, a stock S2000 is one of the easier cars to gain manual tranny experience on. My daily driver is a 5-speed Toyota Tacoma that is way more challenging for a novice. Just be smart and try to avoid down-shifting into second gear on the freeway!

PS - He means that 82K is no big deal on a well-maintained S2000 or any other modern car. I agree.

I went to a dealer with an 08 BB, Red seats 14k miles. They wanted 31k, NADA is at 26.5

Car was mint except for driver side bolsters worn significantly for that milager(probably a really heavy driver), and very minor scrapes under the front bumper.

What is this realistically worth in NJ

Seems like prices are very high this year compared to last. Their asking price of $31k is ridiculous. The NADA $26.5k seems more realistic and probably what I would expect a dealer to price it at, then work from there.
