From the pictures I can't really see the fenders/quarter panels but I'm willing to bet they're all messed up, 100%. I wouldn't pay 11k for a high mileage, hellaflushed car with ebay parts on it nor would I suggest it for anyone else. The mods an owner puts on the car is very telling of how he treated his car. That car has sh!tty mods so you can easily assume he treated the car in a sh!tty way. Take your time and for 11k-13k you can easily find lower mileage AP1's in stock or tastefully modded condition.

I think you should try introducing yourself in the region section and asking them...I might try that too.

Another Bump... would like someone to express their thoughts on the car I am looking at(previous page).

+1.

Those wheels (and tires)... well, let's just say they are not to my taste. And it probably handles for crap with that set up.

Thank you for the advice I did some more re search and you are completely right mods are on the cheaper side for the mods that are available for it. I did some more looking and came up with this one that looks to be completely bone stock so I can put all the correct mods on myself and know that it's right. Any thoughts on this one I know it isnt to detailed but it is what it is .

Looks much better then the other one. If the seller is a used car dealership, you're pretty much taking a big risk with respect to its history. An engine compression/leak down test in your presence is a must. Check if all of the body panels have their original VIN stickers and if there are any overspray's or previous paint work on the car. Carfax/Autocheck does not report every single accident. The only aftermarket part's I see are the exhaust, front/rear emblems and the door panel tweeters. The interior looks cleaner then most other early AP1's I've seen. The headlights look hazy but that most likely means they're the original headlights and the car wasn't involved in a front impact collision. The rear bumper lower plastic is supposed to be black but its been painted silverstone, the rear bumper could be original but resprayed or replaced due to an accident/etc. If everything checks out OK, the asking price is a good deal.

That car seems priced on the low side. Plus the dealer is a buy here-pay here. I bet a carfax comes up dirty. Dealer like that don't buy clean cars. They buy turds and polish them up for the suckers they sell to.

Hi, what is the general opinion on buying a car with a rebuilt engine? Car fax is clean but it listed that the motor was rebuilt around the first year of purchase. It is a 1 owner 05 with 60k miles. The car has a comptech sc but he says it was installed after the rebuild. He has paperwork and said it was due to a factory defect and rebuilt under warentee. It happened around 8000 miles. Generally I would stay clear of anything with engine history but this owner really babied his car. The price is right for my location and it is hard to find clean titled 1 owner s2000 here but if I'm looking at a potential disaster then I would have to pass.
