-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
Hey all, wondering if I can get a valuation on my car, thinking of selling and getting either a CR or Lotus.
2007 NFR
117,xxx miles
The car is in excellent mechanical condition. Cosmetics are typical of a 117k S, front bumper repaint needed and driver side bolsters are worn. Top needs a patch in the spot behind the passenger window. No accidents, matching VINs all around etc.
Car is pretty heavily modded at this point but it would go back to stock for sale.
I've looked and there are not a ton of high mileage 06+ cars out there which means I have no idea where to go, $15k too high?

What do you guys think about this 2000 S2000?

The price seems good but it's been in an accident. Some guy hit him in the parking lot of a gas station... Do you think that the frame or something else will still be messed up even though the fender was replaced?

Hey guys,
Looking to get back in to an s2000 after several years of selling my last one (2001 OEM hardtop 50xxx) stupid to sell I know. I am looking at a neglected 2006 with 92xxx. It is silver with black interior. It has had 6 owners. I haven't seen it in person but I am going to take it to a honda dealership for a prepurchase inspection. Looking at the dealer's photos it needs work. Paint is peeling from valvecover, has an intake, black painted wheels, hole in trunk liner for subwoofer, aftermarket headunit, etc. What do you guys think. I have already talked the dealer down considerably but would like some advice. http://www.libertychryslerdodgejeep....a3c73f3db9.htm
Looking forward to getting back into an s2000!!!

I sold my 2002 NFR not to long ago to buy a house. Got the house, now I want a a s2000 again... So I been looking and I came across this on craigslist: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4544069388.html . My question is: is this a good deal? So I pass on it since it was hit on the driver door or is it something worth fixing. Any input would be aprricated.. Thanks in advcance
I would go get a quote from a reputable body shop on the quarter panel repair plus paint. A door can be picked up for $200-300. Factor in the cost and go from there. It seems like hassle to me unless the car was in the 6-7K range.
Not a good deal considering the damage imo.
I'd rather spend more up front and get a car in much better shape and not have to worry about any body work, etc.
If the owner is serious about selling the car, he should have the damage fixed before listing it up. Leaving it like that just tells me he didn't take care of the car, and/or care about it all that much. Once fixed and in good cosmetic/mechanical shape, the car will be worth around what he is currently asking assuming no further issues.
If he were going to sell it as a parts car, then I can see why he didn't want to fix the damage, however, but that does not appear to be the case.
A shop could easily charge a couple grand to have the car properly fixed/paint matched, so keep that in mind when considering such a car.

As the others stated, I'd avoid that one. It's slim pickins here in the bay but something will come up. I had to talk my buddy into selling his 00 with 71k miles on it, she'll be my first s.
